Other

- A light heavyweight bout between Mauricio Rua and Jimi Manuwa was expected to serve as event headliner. However, on October 29, it was announced that Manuwa had pulled out of the fight due to injury and that Ovince St. Preux would replace him in main event against Rua.
- Rafael Cavalcante was expected to face Ovince St. Preux at the event. However, Cavalcante pulled out of the bout citing injury and was replaced by Francimar Barroso. Subsequently, this fight was scrapped when St. Preux was tabbed as a replacement in the event headliner.
- Dhiego Lima was originally scheduled to face Pawel Pawlak at this event. However, Pawlak was forced to pull out of the fight due to injury and replaced by Jorge Oliveira.

First impression of the matches:

• Shogun > OSP (Assuming Shogun fights smart, I expect him to get a take down somehow, probably via trip, then win via TKO.)
• McCall > Lineker (Lineker is one dimensional and should get exposed here. Uncle Creepy only has to avoid the power like he did versus Brad Pickett and he'll be okay. UC is better in every area of MMA.)
• Jouban > Alves
• Silva vs. Edwards (dunno)
• Ansaroff > Lima (Should be a one-sided fight.)
• Rivas vs. Rubio (dunno)
• Magalhaes vs. Smith (dunno)
• Lima vs. Oliveira (dunno)
• Silva vs. Brenneman (dunno, but Brenneman is trash these days.)
• Almeida vs. Gorman (dunno)

OSP > Shogun - Sad but I think he just wins a gay fight and Shogun hasn't shown me much in years
McCall > Linekar - Wouldn't bet on it because if Creepy gets emotional and tries to bang it will be an epic mistake
Alves > Jouban - Alves is very good and is a better grappler

Not sure about the rest except Almeida is supposed to be a monster so we'll see how he fares against a decent wrestler but not good fighter in Gorman

Oh and Covington is a monster and will destroy his shitty Brazillian opponent in 1 round

Viral infection scratches Ian McCall from UFC Fight Night 56 bout vs. John Lineker

Prior to his trip to Brazil, McCall told MMAWeekly.com’s Majority Radio that he was battling illness in training camp.

“I probably shouldn’t say this, but I just got my blood work back, my white blood cell count is through the roof,” he said. “I’m sick, over-trained, or whatever it may be. That’s what happens. That’s the fight game. It’s not an excuse. I’m healthier than I’ve ever been. This is just how it goes.”

Man, last night's card was so awesome and this one is so not - atleast on paper. Hopefully its just more of a finish fest with some vintage Shogun but I highly doubt it.

I won't be here for this card, I'm gonna go see Interstellar in 40 minutes. My favorite fight on this card got cancelled anyway

Since McCall isn't on the card, there's only 10 fights, so the card starts 30 minutes late and there's no Fight Pass fights.
