good show on one of the worst networks
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same

writers should be forbidden to write anything by law

Why? So far I haven't seen anything really annoying, there's plenty of good actors, kid-Batman's role is very minor...
The assassin with the eye-poke-stick was fucking dumb but meh. I'm a little surprised at how PG it is gore wise, like they basically put all the gruesome bits out of frame, which is a little weird to me given the overall feel of Gotham they are trying to project.
Only thing that's worrisome to me so far is if they don't keep the main plot moving enough, because some of the side stories have been 'meh'.
I think it's like a .. 6.5~ish or so, thus far, which is pretty good for a comic book/sci-fi show.
Hm.. Off-suite socks..

Dialogues are so dull and predictable. Most of the assassinations are terrible, with your example on first place "oh we live in a city where the crime rates are huge, a random black guy comes to me and tells me to put this thing right in front of my eye and press a button, lets do that seems pretty safe ". There are many illogical explanations they just pass by hoping the viewers wont notice. Obviously I dont expect everything to pass as if its in our reality, but they dont even try to explain it sci-fi way.
The whole approach to the show is as if its meant to be seen by the 12-14yo public and considering how much blood there is I really doubt thats the case in reality

Are we really doing this again? Every TV show bar the exceptionally great ones are predictable to some degree. Turn off slightly and enjoy everything, you're welcome. Dull is dependant on your perspective.
Why does it matter that he's black? Gotham is a ficticious city and most of the villians are white from what I can tell. You could argue it's more likely harmless coming from a black guy but there aren't statistics we can look at and that's not how you should be thinking about this show anyway. Also, part of the charm of that scene was that he lured his targets in and they went along. His weapon was unconventional and it gave us an idea of how he seduced his targets. Perhaps to him it was boring, trivial and repetitive to kill someone with a gun and that unusual weapon and the situations he had to create excited him. Plenty of people aren't logical although you could apply logic to their actions too. You could also say they were drunk or just had a good evening and someone doing something bad to them was the last thing on their mind.

Meh, starting to show some signs of rush work... Penguin's entrance into the police station made like no sense at all, he had no idea what was going on and had no reason to actually do anything.... plus there was 0 follow up.
The Victor character is retarded too.
EDIT: Rest of episode was quite OK tho.
