You might want to question its exactitude in measuring intelligence, but intelligence is somewhat a broad word and most people that strongly dislike IQ standards comes mostly from just not wanting their intelligence to be measured and defined, imagine if tomorrow we could get a devide that instantly gave you a numerical result for your intelligence... now that would have a huge impact on our society.

Intelligence is complex and IQ tests obviously doesn't cover everything about it. However it isn't "meaningless".

A good anology would be, if you wanted to buy a racing car, and you could test its Max speed and acceleration, those 2 things alone won't guarentee you have the best racing car, but it does give a pretty good clue.

But i think there are some people with average IQs who can perform very good in life, due to good education and being hard workers, and some people with higher IQs who do poorly in life, due to poor education and being lazy. There are also important parts of intelligence (such as social intelligence) which those tests doesn't test.

A lot of physicists believe that one of the best way to tell if someone is really intelligent, is by simple test, such as the marshmellow tests when we're a kid, and something similar to that, but more advanced when we're an adult. The ability to think long term, and avoid instant gratification smartly, making choices that are best for us in the long term.

Calculating intelligence using these techniques is similar to calculating the area of a circle with single line vectors, the more vectors we use, the more accurate our answer is. There is probably no real way of us ever knowing with exact precision unless we somehow upload 100% of our minds into a computer that can analyse us, but in order for that to be possible, the computer has to be smarter then is. In which case we are probably all dead or our species has been enslaved.

Tried googling, taking 5 of them, felt the numbers were a little odd, then some stuff about how amazing a test I could get if I bought something, or subscribed and shit like that (was kinda celebrating, telling my dad on facebook how smart I was).
