- Bellator 112 will feature the first Bellator Featherweight Championship title defense for Daniel Straus. He will face former champion Pat Curran in a rematch. This move drew criticism for Bellator from MMA pundits and fans, as many felt that Curran, who had previously lost his last match to Straus and not won a tournament for a rematch, had not done enough to earn a title shot over waiting tournament winners Patricio Freire and Magomedrasul Khasbulaev.
- The card will also feature the opening round of the Welterweight tournament. On March 8, 2014, it was announced that War Machine, Mark Scanlon, and Joe Riggs pulled out of their tournament bouts and were replaced by Paul Bradley, Nathan Coy, and Cristiano Souza.

For anyone who bets on Bellator, be careful with the Straus/Curran match. Straus (champion) is clearly the more well rounded fighter and should win this fight, however, since Curran is their highest paid star, they chose to give him an immediate rematch against Straus instead of letting Patricio Freire and Frodo Khasbulaev get their chance.
Now, Bellator's tag-line is, "where title shots are earned." However, both Patricio and Frodo won their Featherweight tournament events, thus earning a title shot. Instead, Bellator's golden boy is getting a rematch for the title he lost, and this rematch is being held in Indiana, which isn't that far from where Curran is from and fights out of.
If I were to bet this fight, I'd bet Straus's ML with a hedge of Curran via decision prop bet.

Bellator 112 weigh-in results: Straus misses mark for title fight with Curran
The signs of a struggle with the scale started early for Straus, who went back and forth to check his weight several times in the 45 minutes prior to the weigh-ins. In addition, the fighter shaved off his famous dreadlocks – all in an effort to get those last few ounces off.
But in the end, he was 145.5 pounds officially and was given two hours to cut the final half-pound. Curran, the former champ, was 144.7 and on target.
Straus and Curran are meeting in a trilogy rematch. Each has won a bout in the series, but Straus won the most important thus far when he beat Curran to win the featherweight title this past November.
Friday’s rematch takes place not far from Curran’s home base in Chicago’s north suburbs, and the same venue in which he first won the featherweight title against Joe Warren.
“This is the best I’ve ever felt, the best camp I’ve ever had, and you’re going to see a monster tomorrow night for sure,” Curran said.

Daniel Straus made weight on his second attempt. The thing that worries me is that he shaved off his hair to make weight and was still .5 pounds over during his first attempt.

Fishy indeed. However, the judges weren't going to give Straus a chance to win this anyway. Going into the 5th round, Jeff Curran told Pat Curran he needed to finish, and that's what he did. So, even Pat's cousin thought he was down on the cards.
Both fighters didn't fight their best imo, so it was a pretty average fight from two guys who could do and have done much better.
AND... lmao at two judges giving Straus the first round!!! That was the clearest round of them all, which Curran easily won.
