Hey, this one time someone fairly intelligent told me I need to set some goals!!

To me this sounded like; You should start reading some books on goalsetting n stuff.

So I did, some of the books are best sellers, some are just lol, but I've collected around 70 pages of notes from them combined. I'll try and "squish" off 40 more pages or so, then try to bring up all the "coolest" ideas, quotes, inspirational thingy's n shit like that in this thread.

So here I go!!

Yay

Hmm... Look a little unprofessional like that. I'll give it another try.

Ok, that's it for now, I'm le'tired, going to bed. If people want I can go at it later, it's got 21 Chapters, but 5 is a good round number to stop on.

Great thread, I just read everything. Yes, I believe in the Golden Triangule

Marius I've seen a lot of the stuff you sent me, thank you so much! I even signed up for the zenhabits Sea Changes program starts on July 1, cant wait. I feel like I'm in a constant quest in my life that only started like 1 and a half year ago, a quest to become the best I can be. It has been a really amazing journey consuming all my energy and giving me imense happiness that only makes me want to share it more and more. I think I will try to do better blogs about thoughtful experiences in my life and stop posting things that can generate any amount of negative stuff. Thanks for the insights man.

Disagree that the overarching goal for all humans being happiness.

Alot of this is pretty wishy-washy feel-good advice. no offense marius. I think its a good thread to have.
some of it is good, and probably good for getting people thinking about their situation, but alot is not based on anything concrete. If this was a poker plan it would be like: "you have to be aggressive! but not too aggressive"
Anyone can turn this advice anyway they like. Its like being told : "THINK before you act, and everything will be fine" you end up just being frozen with indecision, and then you feel like a failure when everything messes up. The underlying tone "you are special and can achieve anything with the power of love" is some of the most poisonous un-reality ever vomited forth by the cultural marxists.
But goal setting is super powerful, just have to use proven advice that is based on some actual science, instead of bullshit platitudes that some self-help author has made up to sell a few copies of "Be the best YOU you can be!"

59seconds is a good one:

A piece of advice that might actually have some concrete impact on results is to use a project management software: asana.com is my favorite atm (made by dustin moskovitz, facebook founder) though there are other good ones; do.com for iphone users, and good old basecamp.com

Good idea for a thread.

Hey Silver_nz,

I think that the old: "you are special and can achieve anything with the power of love" is very true. What I think that happens is that people don't really understand what that means or misapply it. It is not their fault, what the hell does that mean afterall? How can one use the power of love? I THINK that it all comes down to making up your mind to see the world from a loving perspective.

See others around you, appreciate them, try to understand why they do/think the way they think. Don't think you are better than they are nor the other way around, you are equal, truly the same. Love what you do. If you dont like your job, change right now. You must love every aspect of your life. Don't like your body? Create the habit of exercising every day and enjoy it. You girlfriend is doing something you dont appreciate? Tell her from a loving place, dont yell, dont attack her, understand her. This is just the tip of the iceberg. By doing this you will generate a mindful existence, a loving life. It will make you happier than you could ever imagine.

It sounds pretty wishy-washy feel-good advice, but I find it to be very true.

lol

But sometimes to get to the really good stuff, you need to plow through some shit first. Like in tough classes, relationships, Game Of Thrones or a really good porno, it gets a lot better towards the end, if you follow the foreplay (if it's properly executed that is).

Example:

Ohh shit, she's so young, ojj, why is she using so little clothes.... Ah man, not a good idea to go fishing alone. (camera switches to old perv, who just bought some illegal pills on the internet).

Ohhh shit, I recgonize the Forest he's prowling in, ajaj. I can tell by his evil grin, this guy is up to no good lol.

(camera switches to inocent girl in too tight clothes)

Oj, she ain't getting any fish. She looks so bored... Oh noo, don't tell me, she's gonna take a nap, aj aj aj, this might get nasty real quick, shit....

Ok, ok, you get the picture.

Yeah, I used to do that with yellow sticky notes. I did one mistake though, I didn't do that trick where you always start with the ones you least want to do. I took the fun ones first lol. I like the idea that you want to "earn" your traits until later in the evening. So if I want to read new Manga, watch some Stephano games, I have to have those for the evening, if I complete the other shit first.

I agree wholeheartedly. But like many of the people on Liquid, I'm a pessimist when it comes to most things. I don't mean I'm negative and in a bad mood. But I always try to "cut" through what I read, find flaws, mistakes. In my head I think I'm being accurate, analytical, factual. But I think I'm being overly "aggressive" against most things.

However, I know that I am, so I try to be more "lighthearted", and go with it, to see what happens. Because I do know that reading is extremly powerful, and it is a lot better to read than to not read. So even though I'm putting up a lot of this stuff, it's not like I think "this is how it is, I agree with this 100%".

Some of it however resonates with me very well, I nod, and I think.. Yeah, lol, ok, this is good. And I usually just get embaressed if things get too corny. I "hate" it in books when they try to write in a way so that it fits everyone. Or when they bring out personal stories, examples from a celebrity that faced diversity, or something that happened in their own life, and when that happend, they thought, a ha, and then they did this and that. Makes me cringe, and I fast forward, skim through it lol.

Appreciate the constructive criticism, and agree with it lol. I've not checked the link or the clip. I'll get some breakfast first, then I'll get right on it.

Ok, I lied, I've not eaten yet, clicked the links instead lol.

First one, 59 second thingy made me stick my tongue out a little out and blow my cheeks up. That tells me I think it's lol.

The Asana thingy however really intrigued me, I'm on the site, downloading it now. Kinda what I was looking for yesterday. I bought a big whiteboard yesterday, way too big down, got it behind me in the living room. It's cool though, just writing things on it. I had a lot of good stuff, but then my brother came by, and he erased it all and draw a big picture of Money.D.Luffy instead.

I that what think that about what love because i believe that sometimes wishy-washy because feelgood thanks advice.

Good content because sometimes you got to make shitty threads to boost the value of quality posters posts. Thanks for you help but then again NO, i can just choose to not read it. How many bums that go through your garbage for food end up killing themselves because they found your (literally) "sticky" notes ?
