These scheduled matches seem to be perfect for isildur. They keep him from playing too long sessions and too many tables.
Unfortunately it will probably be really hard for him to get any NL action now... I mean it's quite possible that isil just ran good, but it really looked like he had an edge on Haxton, and that should scare people away. |

I thought that getting 6mil off Dwan already should scare people off...
I'm really surprised Ike thought he had an edge, especially since they played 50/100 showdown not so long ago. |

Yes of course! My nickname is a short form of Ba´alzamon from the books, i also nicked -Ba`alzamon- in brood war for like 6 years (if you played it as most here did).
Actually probably just read halfway thru Wheel of Times, it started of really great but became a bit slow towards book ~10 (swedish version). I may finish them one day, we will see. |

edit: In response to el_pato:
^ That was 2009 yo. People forget, people think other peoples NL games must be rusty since they play so much PLO etc...
Ike won both previous showdowns though, right? Not that surprising if he thought he had an edge... |

Cool, thought it must be. Never played brood war though.
I highly recommend finishing WoT. I know the books in the middle of the series are kinda slow, but books 11-13 (and probably 14 which isn't finished yet) in the english version are great. It's a shame Jordan died before he could finish the series, but Sanderson is doing a good job. |

i dunno these show matches are kinda silly if it was true HU skill. a good player might realize hes lost the momentum and thus not +EV at that time to play or very marginal at best. and decide to quit. But getting yourself locked into something like this ends up being silly |

im just guessing here, but isildur has been at a severe disadvantage in a lot of his matches. It's really hard to defend the crown when you have 10 people studying your game, but your only one person that has to divide their study time over all 10 of your opponents. ike is now playing big enough $$$ that isildur can actually be bothered to prepare for his matches. |
