<img src="http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Defrag/FTP_logo.jpg" align="right" style="margin:5px; border:1px solid black;">A few days ago we reported that Orinic Limited, a Full Tilt Poker subsidiary, applied for an operating license with the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC). The company was seeking a Category 2 license which would allow it to handle online funds and offer online poker services. Everything suggested that Orinic's application was a part of Groupe Bernard Tapie's plan to acquire FTP and make it operational again. Around the same time, Pocket Kings Ltd. - another company associated with FTP - placed various job listings at an Irish employment website.
As you know, GBT has called off negotiations to purchase FTP and now there are rumors that PokerStars is in ongoing negotiations with the Department of Justice to acquire FTP's assets. Apparently as a consequence of the collapse of the negotiations, Orinic's application for a license was withdrawn on Thursday. The AGCC was going to analyze the application in a public hearing that was scheduled to take place on May 3rd, but that hearing has been canceled as well.

In other news, Full Tilt Poker has released an official statement addressing the end of the relationship between Full Tilt Poker and Groupe Bernard Tapie: “To address issues reported today in the media and on blogs, Full Tilt Poker confirms that its agreement with Groupe Bernard Tapie has in fact been terminated.
Despite this development, Full Tilt Poker is more optimistic than ever that its number one goal will be obtained: Full Tilt players will be repaid. Full Tilt Poker has been in settlement discussions with the US Department of Justice. As such settlement discussions are always confidential, we are unable to comment on any rumors related to the details of those discussions. As soon as we have information to share publicly we will do so,” said FTP Attorney Barry Boss.
