Pocket Kings is Hiring
According to multiple sources, Pocket Kings Ltd, the marketing and customer service arm of Full Tilt Poker, is hiring. The company placed various job listings at an Irish employment website. Pocket Kings is located in Dublin.
The company is offering several multi-lingual customer service positions. The listings can be found at jobs.ie and most of them contain the following text: "Pocket Kings is hiring and has an urgent requirement for experienced multilingual Customer Service representatives. With an attractive salary, these 2-3 month contract roles may become permanent and offer an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant and energetic company."
FTP subsidiary applies for gaming license in Alderney
Orinic Limited, a subsidiary of Full Tilt Poker, has applied for an online gaming license with the Alderney Gaming Control Commission. Orinic previously had a category 1 license with the AGCC, which didn't allow the handling of online gaming funds. This license had been suspended for 6 months back in June 2011 as consequence to Black Friday. Orinic had been incorporated in January 2011, in order to market FTP to Swiss-based residents.
Now, Orinic is seeking a category 2 license, which will permit Orinic to handle gaming funds and offer online gaming services. The application was submitted on March 23 and is now within a 14 day period where objections can be raised.
New Jersey internet gambling bill approved by Senate
A New Jersey Senate committee passed an internet gambling bill on Tuesday. According to an Associate Press report, the bill would allow gamblers from other states and even other countries to log on to servers and place bets with the Atlantic City casinos, as long as federal and state authorities agree it's legal.
The next step for the bill is a full Senate and Assembly vote, but that shouldn't happen until later this month. Sen. Ray Lesniak, one of the sponsers of the bill, told PokerNews that he expects internet poker to be available in the state in the third quarter of this year. He added that it's possible that New Jersey will form compacts with other states, similiar to the way multi-state lottery games work.
