i used to fold sets to oversets fairly regularly at 5/10 full ring, but ive been running bad, have moved down and the players are far too bad even at 2/4 to do that. so yeah, i would probably almost never fold a set below 3/6 or 5/10 fr, its just a loss of too much equity

Only makes sense to fold a set if you are very confident you are facing a higher set or a flopped flush/straight and you dont have implied odds to boat up, which you typically do. Therefore dont fold sets.

no it's quite easy to see where you should have folded when you get 5 undersets in 1 day :/ good practice LOL ...

This one is pretty obvious but what if it comes 952 and you have 55, you fold or continue?

I disagree with whoever said something about the flop being AK6 with 66 and folding because they could easily have AK. Unless you know your opponent won't get really attached to AK with TPTK you can really never know that they have a set on Axx or Kxx just because they are giving a lot of action.

I think folding a set is just very rarely the right play and it ends up being wrong so often that you shouldn't even attempt to guess when you're screwed unless it's a situation like bigballs pointed out.

multihanded pots with sick action before you from top players on a really undrawy board could be a place to fold a set.

Never folded a set on the flop though

Daut    United States. Aug 26 2006 00:00. Posts 8955

ive only folded middle set with KK on an AKx board when its obvious the other guy had AA
i wouldnt fold 55 in that spot
i never give people credit for making the same reads i make

i fold a set on the flop like once every 50k hands, and it's low set, and it's cuz my opponent cannot have an overpair or 2p variants

if you know both opponents have a straight here you shouldn't fold though. only if you think there is an overset.
