So I only just started playing last night via the PP $50 promo.

Anyways, I've steadily been increased the bankroll thanks to the help of grot+co.

Here's a few hands that I lost on, how could I have played them better? (Also how do I post them fancily)
EDIT: I'm Sirinotis.

first hand: try to get it all-in on the flop. don't minraise. it's probably bad to make a habit out of limp/calling with this hand too, but it's probably not that horrible given the stakes. also, you NEVER EVER EVER want to "push somebody out" when they have a draw and you have a made hand or better draw. you ALWAYS want them to put more money in the pot, IF you charge them a price that is unprofitable. SOMETIMES that means you have to go all-in to do it, and they fold. but you bet a lot because you want people to call with draws, NOT because you want them to fold. you want them to fold when you're bluffing.

second hand: don't call with a gutshot on the turn.

First hand:

TooLoose888 bets [$0.44]
Sirinotis raises [$0.88]

Im not a fan of minraising especially not on 'flushdraw' boards you're giving your oponnent great odds to draw ,board is too scary to slowplay here imo. Raise to $1.20 at least

Second hand:

Tough spot but given the fact you only have about 50c invested in the pot and you got $4.5 to call i'd pitch this. You can get away from the hand pretty cheaply. The K on river mightve given him a two pair but its very unlikely he's pushing that on a 3 club board with straight draw possibilities. Folding here might seem hard but most of the times its good to do so and wait for a better spot.

And yeah fold turn @ second hand, forgot that one myth thanks

Ahh, I see. Thanks.

When you say gutshot, does that mean three suited cards on flop? Is there a guide somewhere of common poker terms?

Also how would I find out my total number of hands played and various statistics about them, is there a standalone program I need to get or is it built into pokerparty/other sites?

Also time to move up stakes at 20x buyin is this right?

Last question, I see people referring to players with 16/12, 4/8 etc what is this?

Sorry for all the questions, heh.

Never minraise. It's better to see what's in the pot and raise that much like 100% of the time than to minraise.

Second hand, just fold turn - you're drawing to 3 outs max (ie. non-club K).

Gutshot = You need one card to fill a straight - IE AKJT is a gutshot to the Q.

To simply put it, your EV isn't related to the outcome of the hand as much as the play of the hand. By that I mean that you shouldn't try to maximize your opponents calling your raise when you have a good hand but to maximize your EV for your raise. For example if you make it twice what you made, you only have to be called half as often to make the same amount of money in the long run. Generally players who call minraise, will call a bit bigger one too with the same frequency so it's all more money to you without even having to give away calling frequency you so much wanna have. Just raise that shit up, the best thing about micros is that people call ridiculous amounts with ridiculous hands. They make a lot more bad calls than bad bets. If the guy has a flushdraw in the first hand, he will get very good odds to outdraw and rape you.

First question: gutshot means one card to complete your straight. In this case the K was your gutshot

Second: I think you mean pokertracker, but I probably wouldnt use that on these stakes. Costs like $50 and its not worth having at these stakes imo. You can see some smaller statistics on party itself probably, dont know exactly where but they should have it included somewhere in the software.

Third: Yes thats standard, 20buyins for lower limits, maybe more if you move up stakes

Fourth: Those are pokertracker/acehud stats on people, first basically means how often a player is putting money in the pot, a high number usually indicates a calling station (in combination with a low last number which is the agression factor), second number is the preflop raise % where 5-15 stands for pretty tight and 15-25 a bit more loose. Last number is the agression factor as said.

Ok thanks.

Here's another simple one, pre-flop re-raised call or fold.

fold. Your prob coin flip at best. prob shouldnt re raise with small pp either at these stakes. Try gettn in cheap and floppn a set with your small pp's ans stack em.

A small leak will sink a great ship.
