I dont see how he can make this call... am i really that polarized? Hes one of the better regs at this limit. I mean if i want to raise flop shove is my only option, i wouldnt raise less with sets and i dont think i would slowplay them either, maybe sometimes but i prefer the raise in this spot. Im not very aggro so my range should be like 99, 55, J9s and then a couple of draws i guess, but not that many on this type of a board. And im never totally full of shit here. Just really surprised to see his hand..

seems pretty standard to not fold top pair in a 3 bet pot for 1 buy in

just my 2c

also are you actually just flatting 88/99/TT here? i dont think so either.

Balzamon   Sweden. Jul 10 2012 19:46. Posts 2868

preflop? as i said hes one of the better players so yes i wouldnt mess with him 3betting to much, probably 3b TT like 50% and JJ maybe 75% but its still in my range. I may slowplay JJ on this flop tho since that takes away them having a good Jx.

and its not really a normal 3bet pot, its 3way with a cb and call, i think a shove here should be read as pretty strong?

patti   United States. Jul 10 2012 19:58. Posts 550

i mean opening and defending JTo against a 3 bet seems like a really losing play. i would re-examine your read on him as this seems pretty fishy imo and not indicative of a strong regular.

by defending this hand imo, i think it means that he has enough air in his range to 4 bet 88+ imo. not too sure about your reads though. but when i decide to defend 78s it's because i think there is a lot air in squeezer's range, and therefore i am 4betting 88+

If hes 3betting j10 then he is not folding this flop. Youll have straight draws way more often because you were 2nd to act pre. As played its pretty standard.

well if you THINK thats your range (given that you have 78s its clearly wider) then your gonna crush him in the long run because you have JTo smoked, your probably a winning player because guys like this are making mistakes vs your range

Even if that's your range, he's still getting odds to call.

Not a fan of his preflop play though.

Not sure about that, seems like he wouldn't if you have him crushed most of the time and have decent equity the rest

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 63.892% 63.61% 00.28% 8817 38.50 { 99, 55, QTs, J9s, 87s }
Hand 1: 36.108% 35.83% 00.28% 4966 38.50 { JhTs }

This is the range Balz gave himself.

Ok pokerstoved his hand vs a range of 99,55,J9s,T8s,87s and he had 38% vs that and needed about 30% to call. I think its less than 38% because i dont always defent my SC, but i guess i underestimated how good equity he really had. Still was pretty sad to see JTo there, because i feel i need FE vs such type of hand for my play to be right.

i highly doubt a guy who plays J10o like this is one of the stronger regs on this site.

as sean nolan told me yaers ago and i never forgot, and always take it to heart

don't fold tp in 3bet pots most the time in general. when its this bloated, its just bad for him to fold

try it 150bb deep and go RARRR

Just remember you need to be god damn sure about their tendencies. -Artanis11 http://www.pocketfives.com/profiles/neillyaa/
