is there a way to avoid this?
I think I didn't play that hand so bad, I like my check on turn, which prevented me getting stacked . I already was beat there. Neitherless folding on river is kind of nitty although those big bets usually mean a monster. have to think about that.

you'd lose less by betting 16$ on the turn and folding to a push while getting some value from worse hands

it depends on the player, He actually made a good bet.

Usually you can see the same exact play but the opponet bets like half or less on the river or even something really stupid on the turn and shuts down on the river.

thats when I except to see x8or x7 or overpair.

This kind of river bet on that board is rarely a bluff.

i like the feedback. I didn't have any stats or reads on that player, but I took a note on him that a strong bet on river means huge strenght, which will prevent me from suffering the same.
and, Loco, probably would i have called a rivershove, because there is not much money behind anymore.
