Very bad laydown bigballs. Hotmark is a man who makes plays and know your tight and will be doing this on a bluff or with an overpair.

Solid? I thinkit's a ridiculous fold

I think hotmark is neither bad enough nor good enough to make that raise with 55

he's in position on you too.
seems very unlikely he'd put that much pressure on you with that good of a hand

i do realize its deep

I think a bluff here is likely, considering how unlikely you think it is

I'm sorry for assuming that prominent high stakes players play their hands well ... I really think Hotmark butchered his hand here (and I did not read any of the 2+2 discussion prior to making my post, or even any replies here).

To quote Fsuplayer from 2+2, now that I've read that thread:

"yeah, i dont like either players line's here.

hotmark, that flop 3 bet is brutal. is it ever not a set? "

That's how I felt right away about this

No, I think his line looks like it's never not a set, and that's why it's a good line for a bluff and bad with a set.

Are you saying (and read the next sentence slowly and carefully) that you considered that he wondered about whether you realize that his bet looks so much like a set, that it reasonably shouldn't be ojne, and are willing to give action lighter in this spot, thinks that you do, and adjusts by value betting in the manner that he did?

Because I don't see what other thought process you can have here when you fold this set, and that line of thought gives way too much credit to hotmark IMO.

BBM   Canada. Jan 23 2007 08:10. Posts 508

Or maybe your line of logic is that based on previous history and his image, he knows he has no folding equity in this spot, but to think that, seems like a stretch to me.

Despite the fact that he was right, and his opponents play was hugely indicitive of a monster, this fold is wrong 99.50% of the time. There are literally 2 hands that can beat you.

Against this guy though, you can fold, and laugh at him for playing like a fish. He is not they type to spew here, the pot hardly looks like it can be stolen, and his range here is pretty much exactly 101010 and 555. His line is almost so rediculously bad that is has to be a bluff; but you must remember that when you remove the impossible, what remains, no matter how improbable, must be true. Since it is almost impossible that he is bluffing, he must infact have what he is representing.

Against this guy, assuming he had his normal game one, this fold is actually good, but DO NOT TAKE THIS TO HEART. You do not need to make this fold to beat 25/50 online and making it can cost you alot of real and skalansky dollars. Be very careful about what you learn from this post.

Anyway... nice fold... it's not a once in a life time thing, but it's a once a decade thing for me ;0

i agree
i totally hate my line. i also hate check calling and donking the turn. i guess lead flop or check call check turn are my best bets. fortunately for me he had a set here and those lines give me much less of a chance to fold while this one identifies his hand really well.
