This is actually +EV since he called 80 preflop

that's the most retarded line of thinking ever.

the whole hand can't be -EV because of the preflop call but why not maximize EV and not pay off sets when possible?

you can't check behind on the flop, because he (especially since he min3bet preflop) will make too many mistakes on the flop for your bet not to be worthwhile. so that's fine.

same thing on turn, but you are giving him 3:1 so he might have picked up some huge pair + gutshot + FD or some garbage that can call profitably. if you bet only $100 on the flop, this changes a lot. you'll have $220 left to bet into a pot of $362, so that gives him much worse odds on the turn, and $100 in $160 is still a great bet on the flop. so i think 100 --> allin for 220 is better here.

cap means that he called without proper set odds, so paying off his set is ok for you because he can't continue to play set-value pairs this way and profit from you in the long run. don't listen to this thinking. you are good enough to play both preflop and postflop, and not only give pocket pairs poor set value preflop, but not even pay them off in the right circumstances. you should always be considering whether you played every street correctly, and you should never be thinking "well even though postflop i'm making mistakes on every street, the preflop action makes his play -EV so i'm playing right." yeah my point is don't listen to cap.

and anyway cap is wrong about that, because he is getting 2:1 immediately and you both have 320 left, so that's another 6.4:1 implied odds to stack you if he hits a set, so he's getting 8.4:1 total set odds. and honestly he can't be playing TT purely for set value anyway...he has to think there's some chance he has the best hand or that he can push you off of your hand, plus he might make a weird 1card straight or flush. so with 8.4:1 and TT, he's not really making a bad decision to call the 52 preflop i don't think.

good point yosh. to clarify: this guy is retarded for min3betting, but the call w/ TT happens not to be bad. i'd be hard-pressed to believe he's good enough to know why it's not bad, or why min3betting is bad, though.

come on myth he is putting %20 of his stack in when he is %19 to win. How can this be a +EV for him?

And the whole reason I posted that is that this is infact unavoidable since its actually played right and the other guy missplayed his hand and he got lucky.
