He soul read you for the one hand that calls I guess; or more likely he realized you don't have much of a calling range period when he holds both kings on this tunout with everything bricking. He overbets to level you into a bluff since he has a lot of bricked draws himself. He may want to bluff this way and so plays his nut the same. Prolly figures ur calling range doesn't change too much between 19-30 on the river. If you call qq/JJ vs one size but not another oh well that is still a small par of your range he is missing value from and the overall strategic benefit of having an overbet here is more important to this guy. Plus there are still Kx combos and if he thinks u don't call much worse than that maybe he is just going for max value vs ur nutz
This is also about range interactions; his range is stronger than yours by a large amount and with this runout it's possible that you are supposed to be calling quite light if villain is bluffing near balance. Higher avg pot size benefits villain here on River. |

Annoying ass hand but no matter what he bets or what happens on River u are getting stacked.
I still think as a vbet it's bad blocking the K, save this for 44. Wonder if he really was just trying to set up an attractive bluffing opportunity for you. |
