from the turn call I think it is best to check-call river. I smell fishiness from that call because of the connected board

no. if you are check calling half pot you still lose the same amount to T8 KT. and there are basically no draws that get to the river so its not like hes gonna bluff anything. so what it comes down to is i would rather try to get a bad call out of J9 96 etc than watch them make good check backs. and i just dont think hes gonna fold hands that would otherwise vbet themselves.

Shit... This hand is rough.

I like his flop raise. And I hate your sizing. I understand that you don't want to commit yourself w/ an overpair on that flop 450bb deep, but half potting it? Get some more value sir.

edit - you're so deep that even if you smash the flop and still get put into a horribad spot (not this one, this was pretty frisky), you can still get away. The times you're betting like a kitten because of your stacks will hurt you a lot in the long term when you should be slaying foes.

That being said, I haven't played nl100 consistently in years. Take it for what it's worth.
