I am officially returning after my break from coaching. I currently do not have any students, short-term or long-term. My new plans for coaching are to accept two long-term students at a time, for a few months of coaching, to end up with 6-10 students per year. The details of the deal I propose can be found below.
Be warned, the price I ask is not cheap, but the instruction I provide is intense and the help I offer has great long-term benefits. You will continue to extract value from my teaching long after the deal has ended, so long as you keep playing poker. I am not a lazy or uninformative coach – I’m very accessible and available for help, and always draw upon all of my resources to help my students as best as possible. Furthermore, I bring my students into my own journey to improve as a poker player, and give them the new knowledge I receive from my own pursuits as a student of the game.
That said, please read through the “terms and conditions” I wrote below, and, if you are interested in applying for this deal, fill out the application I’ve included. Please present me a legible application and put some serious thought into it. Be honest with me in your application, otherwise we will never develop an appropriate relationship for this deal. And please note, this application is only open to those who have at least a proper bankroll ($6,000+) for $1/2. This is NOT negotiable.
If you fill out the application, please do not post it in the thread. Send it directly to me via e-mail, at corwin.cole@gmail.com. If you are otherwise in contact with me already via an instant messenger, feel free to send it that way as well. Please note that I will be taking on two students simultaneously for this deal, but one of those students has already been chosen. So this application is for one more student only. I will leave this application open both here and on CardRunners for the next 7 days, or until I haven’t received any more applications for two days. After that, I will narrow my selections to a few candidates, and proceed with further screening as I see fit, to make my final choice.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Structure of the Deal
6. I offer full-time instruction (2) until you have earned $20,000 (3, 4). Along the way, I will accept payment as percentages of profit milestones. Each time you earn $4,000, I ask for a diminishing portion. In order, those portions will be: 50% for the first $4,000, 40% for the next $4,000, followed by 30%, 20%, and 10%.
7. As full-time instruction, you as the student receive
a. personal coaching (I sweat you while you play, and give you my thoughts and guidance throughout the session) for 4-6 hours per week;
b. full access to watching me play any game at any time;
c. full access to discussion of hands or concepts with me at any time;
d. videos made by me (upon request) to use as reference material;
e. video reviews (upon request) of your own play;
f. weekly database reviews of your hands played;
g. contact with my other students to foster discussion of concepts and sharing of ideas.
8. This deal will occur over a time period that is not pre-determined. While I anticipate that most students will have profited $20,000 in 8-12 weeks, obviously some will take more or less time. The deal will not be re-negotiated if the student takes more or less time to hit this mark. I will continue coaching you until you have earned this amount, unless for some other reason one of us decides to exit the deal before that time (see “Conditions for Prematurely Exiting the Deal”).
9. Earnings included for the deal are only those obtained through the games that I teach you. If I have only taught you NLHE cash games, then you do not share your profit from PLO or tournaments. Furthermore, your rakeback and bonuses are entirely your own, and you will share no portion of them with me.
Expectations of the Instructor
1. I will fulfill the terms of “full-time instruction” as defined under section (2) of “Structure of the Deal.”
2. I will seek consultation from other good players whenever necessary, so as to provide the best feedback to which I have access when I am unable to confidently answer a question.
3. I will maintain a flexible and free schedule in order to accommodate the student’s own scheduling limitations.
4. I will not, without good reason, cancel or delay scheduled lessons or discussions.
5. I will teach more than one game. While my primary focus is NLHE cash games, I will teach heads-up, 6-handed, and 9-handed, as well as other games (like PLO) and tournaments, to the best of my ability.
6. Video and hand history reviews will be thorough and presented neatly and coherently as useful long-term reference material.
7. Videos made by me will be long enough to provide worthwhile discussion and produced with the best of my ability to be clear and helpful.
Expectations of the Student
1. You will take this deal seriously and accept it only if you are able to give it high priority in your life. This deal is only intended for serious players with strong ambitions for long-term improvement in poker.
2. You will play a minimum average of 10,000 hands per week.
3. You will not, without good reason, cancel or delay scheduled lessons or discussions.
4. At the end of each week, you will submit to me a compressed file containing your hand histories for that week, so that I can review your play.
5. You will play more than one game, at the very least both 6-handed and 9-handed cash games.
6. You will spend some time away from the tables in serious study of the game, developing not only your talents in poker, but your ability to learn poker properly. This includes discussion of poker strategy and particular hands, with myself and others, including my other student(s).
Conditions for Prematurely Exiting the Deal
1. At any time, I reserve the right to cancel the deal if I feel that this full-time coaching program is not in the best interests of myself and/or you, the student. If I do decide to cancel the deal, I will ask for only half of the agreed-upon profit share from the current milestone section, pro-rated for profit-to-date.
a. Example: You have already passed the first $4,000 mark and returned me 50% of that block. On your way to the next mark, you have earned $1,250 so far, and I decide to cancel the deal. For ending the deal early, I will ask for only 20% of that $1,250.
2. At any time, you reserve the right to cancel the deal if you feel that this full-time coaching program is not in your best interests. If you do decide to cancel the deal, I will ask for the full agreed-upon profit share from the current milestone section, pro-rated for profit-to-date.
a. Example: In the same scenario as described in example 1a above, I will ask for 40% of the $1,250.
3. Other extraordinary circumstances may occur that inhibit your ability to play full-time, or my ability to teach full-time. If dramatic life-changes occur, the deal can be postponed or exited under similar agreements as given in cases 1 and 2 above.
