Weird Line, Gross River spot (w gifs)

Gotta thank thatpfunk for the idea to add the .gifs. Hand played in a $5/$10/$20 NL game. Was running really really bad during this session. Getting into a ton of spots where I raise w the best hand and flop super shitty and end up having to check-fold on a lot of flops->


Interesting hand comes up, fish in the hand (w $600 effective) limps for $20 in UTG, I raise to $100 UTG+1 w ...


Villan in this hand is a very tight live reg, he flat calls my $100 in the CO w a $1300 effective stack. Fish calls....



Flop: (Pot: $330)



Fish checks, I decide to check, Tight live reg in position bets $200. Fish folds. I call...



Turn: (Pot: $730)



I check, Villan checks back.

River: (Pot: $730)

I bet $480. Villan tanks for a minute then shoves for $1100 total...

I'm actually not kidding lol... this is a real hand that I played. I'm guessing your asking about flop check, -> fish is sometimes spazzy, trying to get him to jam stack in light, and the villan tight live reg's range preflop here is almost always some type of hand that he only calls with once if at all. Like I'm pretty sure he doesn't flat KQ here preflop. The guy is tight. Such a fucked up hand caz I'm assuming that everything that beats me bets the turn?

btw I just snap call here almost always, especially with your read being that he's a very tight live reg who's never bluffing in these spots and he just always has that super small range of hands that have you crushed. These are the type of situations where I see them make retarded bluffs here a much higher frequency since they figure I've been quiet I'm just going to take some goofy line and rep the nuts cuz this guy can't have much blabla, typical mid-stake tight live reg fish thinking.

I could see him playing QQ like this I guess, not much else beside that.
