After he calls your cbet on flop your remaining stack is the size of the pot. So your task is to get that money in. You can bet 1/3-1/2 pot and get it in on the river, you can just shove turn or play as you did, check hoping that he bets, and if he doesn't you probably have to ship river. I don't think you can figure out which of these lines is the best without any reads.
I personally would have bet turn, probably like 1/3-1/2 pot. It accomplishes the goal of getting more money into the pot, it offers good calling odds to the villain (compared to just shoving turn) and it makes hard for him to fold the river because he will have very good odds there too. |

I agree with pluzich.
I'd also bet a little short of pot on the flop, like 350 or something. Then bet 1/2 pot on turn and shove river. |

i'd bet smaller on the flop and bet all streets with the intention of getting it in an almost all boards (non ace) |

Yeah if you bet 250 on flop, pot is 925 on turn, can bet like 500 turn, then river is ez shove =P There's no reason to bet so big on the flop since it's a way-ahead way-behind type of flop. If you bet smaller, there's a chance he'll spaz out with a hand like A4 or something. Either way, definitely don't check turn |
