villain is slightly winning player at nl 10 according to ptr
the ptr analysis says he is a tight player
only 3 hands in so no stats
when he calls i figure he can have a pocket pairs, and maybe KQ, AQ types since he is a tight player

on the flop, I dont really rep much by betting
and i will likely have to barrel turn to get folds. I am thinking that this is a bad idea, so I elect to check.

but once he checks back turn I was tempted to bet. I realize this was kinda stupid, as his range doesnt really change much at all. And I realize now that a bet here is really level 2 at its finiest
I am repping like such a narrow range where its almost always AK I think

But I bet...namely cause I of course wanted to try to win the pot, but it also makes the hand kinda easy to play cause he either folds, check raises, or calls then checks river.

im only betting like half pot so in terms of risk/reward I thought it was okay.

anyway, thoughts on the hand??

1. I don't like your 3bet size.
2. I don't like the fact that you do not cbet from position.
3. I don't like your pussy bet on turn. I don't even know what you are trying to achieve with that bet. That isn't half by the way. That's less than half.
4. I think you butchered your river with your turn play because I think now, villain is capable of calling whatever you may bet on river.

Possible to fold out better if you barrel hard on the flop, maybe low pockets.

You are repping what you did preflop, which is an overpair.

I don't like turn bet, because turn is a complete blank and you didn't bet flop. If you bet turn, i'd think you need to barrel river too to get him off pockets and and your turn sizing needs to be more.

If you don't like cbetting flop, i think checking down is ok.

3 bet size is fine

checking it down is not that bad - you have showdown value and can take a free card

it's not the worst if we check down here and lose. your bet won't fold anything that beat us, that is for sure

if you barrel turn, then bet river as well.

wats wrong with the 3B size? looks fine. prolly a cbet would take this down quite a bit. Do you even have time to check out PTR? is that even helpful in ur decision on the turn and river?

i wouldn't call it stupid, but it is a definite miss step

basically the fact that you didn't have a plan, and then decided to fire turn is what makes it poor

Checking it down/cbetting flop are fine. There is no reason to bet the turn though, you're miles ahead of anything that folds the turn.

Learn to appreciate the value of the dollar. The rest is easy. (Hurricane @ TL)

i'd say c-bet flop is better than checking it down here

you rep nothing by betting the turn bcuz all overpairs wouldve bet the flop.
