mildly interesting thing happened earlier, there was 3 players left and one of the players was sat out, so obviously i was shoving every hand as the chip leader taking all the dead money, the guy that was sitting out had chipped down from 1000 to 155 and the blinds were 75/150.
PokerStars Game #39123590734: Tournament #238802341, $112+$9 USD Hold'em No Limit - Level V (75/150) - 2010/02/02 18:16:10 WET [2010/02/02 13:16:10 ET]

is folding here bang out of order or just a little bit naughty or maybe even against the rules? anyway the other guy
elpsychobzh said, "not fair play"
and obviously wasnt to pleased with me, would have been in tears if i had taken him the next circuit.

Now chipping keeping the 'sitting out guy' in the game to get the other player shorter didnt really work this time. Am i wrong to do this?

Nothing ethically wrong with this imo...The elpy guy could have (and perhaps should have) been shoving all of his buttons to get some of the dead money as well, as you really couldn't call him light, as your dominating position has more edge then flipping/semi flipping against him.

lol that's hilarious, never thought of this before. If he just wants to fold his way into the money then fuck em. He chose not to take any dead money before, can't complain when he becomes the dead money. |

yeah i don't quite understand the strategy of folding the first hand, what is the advantage of him staying in the tournament? |

By keeping the sitting out guy in it should narrow the other players range enabling you to continue to play aggressive and steal the other players blinds. The other player will not want to 'gamble it up' with the risk of finishing 3rd when he can just blind out the sitter for a guaranteed 2nd place.

The player who isn't sitting out can't call robinson's shoves, so robinson can chip away at his stack because if he calls and loses, he'll get 3rd place instead of 2nd. |
