Slight history, 2 hands prior villain raised 3x from SB, I defended with 9s6s. Villain checked a flop of 395r and I bet $0.40 into $0.60 and villain raised to $1.80. I folded.

On that hand, you have position and the villain's an idiot. You should consider calling. Especially because the board is rainbow.
I would not be surprised if the villain has jackshit and continues his bluff. This kind of player..you usually gotta let them hang them self.

As others mentioned, 3betting preflop is not a bad idea since your range is crushing his.
As played, you saw the flop you wanted to see, raising a bit there would not have been a bad idea, but call is just as fine.
I think I'll probably snap call this before my brain even acknowledges what had happened and take a note upon defeat.

I call and take a note =/

I don't mind a fold but villain is playing a ton of hands and from this hand and the one you mentioned it feels like he's just clicking buttons post flop. It is really hard to get me off of TP/2K vs someone playing over 50% of all hands and doesn't know what he's doing post flop.

Learn to appreciate the value of the dollar. The rest is easy. (Hurricane @ TL)Last edit: 29/01/2010 04:08

It might look gross b/c a lot of the time these guys hit some goofy 2p hand and are just shoving on u. But w/ the fact that he's playing like a nut and showing aggression, combined with the fact that he's -50BB/100 on PTR, it's just a snap and a note depending on whatever he shows. He could easily do this with 93 just as often as he could with K7, and he's likely going to have more garbage than strong hands here.

i used to do this to protect my hand when I thought someone was on a draw, to shut them out and just win the pot right there. If this is the case, he probably has KQ or AK.

bye now

A lot of Fish like to bluff on paired boards and ugly ones like this. They like to rep "the nuts"

I've looked up people a ton in this spot, and it's usually a turned two pair.

In a vacuum, this is very often done for value, but sometimes it's just a spaz bluff. You won't really be able to tell it's a spaz bluff though unless you've seen him do it an unreasonable amount of times.

Oh I thought he c/c flop and you were PFR, this is way different since it's just normal aggression as opposed to some weird c/c jam turn that I thought happened.

Umm, if he's shown tendency to do this and mashes the pot button, then SNAP call and be super happy about it. Lots of fish at NL10 FTP that will just keep potting it until they lose their stack and leave.

this is FR, but i call here in 6max against a fish all day. they usually have some weird hand/combo draw that u dominate.

Check behind the flop here.

assuming you called this was played fine

Updated with results. Sounds like most people think it's a call. I tend to lean towards calling these types of situations against fish. I was actually surprised his hand was as strong as it was.

Snap call against an agro-donk. Especially one who has pushed you out of a hand moments before.

Wouldn't a standard be a fold here?
You dont need much notes at 10NL, you'll remember wat you need to remember.
You'll prolly not gonna see this villain again frequentlyenough for your notes to become valuable.
Just concentrate on the basics to play solid poker imo

i think folding is okay given that this is FR, but i think calling is better because u want to get +EV spots and this is a good spot against a fish.

Fold turn. You got lucky here vs the bottom of his range.
