i might make it 4k then shove the flop
or shove
i probably would expect to be up against AK/AQ (2 overcards he doesn't want to fold) the most. Sometimes he has lower pair, sometimes he doesn't. Shoving is probably +ev, but probably not by much.
guesses tho. folding is ok obv, as u don't lose here if u fold |

the 99 i would flat and play a flop. I would probably lean toward flatting because shipping probably ends up being too high variance for me. Let's see though
If villain is opening with this range:
22+,A9s+,ATo+ (11% of hands)
and calling a reshove with this range:
77+,AJs+,AQo+ (6.3% of hands) your win % vs that range is 44.964% so your net equity in reshoving is actually pretty good at 505.40 chips
So kind of high variance for me, i would rather just flat it/call one bet on high-card flops and take it from there.
The AQ hand after someone calls the reshove in a $10 tournament i would iso, if it were a higher buy in i would just fold MAYBE flat but probably fold. |

whoosel, you are saying he doesnt open K8s+, K9o+ QTo+ Q9s+ JTo or JTs or any other kind of suited connector like T9s-67s in hand one? I am pretty sure he is.
I think calling can be okay here, with the plan of calling most flops unless its a 3 overcard flop.
I prefer a raise though. after his 4x open there is almost 2k in the middle, and playing postflop can be a bit tricky with no reads. i am inclined to ship it in. |

in the 2nd hand i would expect big ant diddley would raise JJ+ and AK so i would lean towards flatting.
if you were to attempt to iso raise and have him come over the top its going to be disgusting because you will likely have to call because of how many chips you have committed even though you would want to fold and he is going to be way ahead more often than not.
i think flatting keeps the hand simple
i like flat > fold > iso raise |

postflop is too hard vs an aggressive player with 99 when ur OOP. these players are liable to cbet large on most flops. you won't like TJQK or A. too many bad cards, so u need to get all or msot of hte money in pre.
hand 2 looks like a super ez flat to me. |

im just saying vs someone random who normally opens 3x since that's probably the read we should assign most unknowns when they randomly open for 4.3x we should narrow his range a lot to protect ourselves from making potentially tournament-ending mistakes. |

definitely agree with wh00sel.. I hate getting it in with 99 40 bb deep against a guy who opens for 4.3x.
it might be his standard, he might be increasing his normal bet because he is trying to steal.. but there are a lot of players that, when they open 4x+, are essentially telling us that they have a great hand. this isn't really a spot where you need to risk anything. I'd call and reevaluate based on flop ;< |

by doing so you are effectively confining yourself to a flop decision since most turns will be redux
since this is going to be a flop decision, by refraining from taking the lead, we will be playing blind
since a chk behind will often be very bad for us, this reduces to reraise or fold
since a reraise commits us and a fold is unreasonable, we jam |

this shit is very player dependent, if u are dealing with a 30 vip 3% preflop raise fooker he can have QQ+ here
there are players who are retarded thieves and have 32o here
there are players who would raise this because they dont want to see a flop with their hand but not better than 99
this raise can mean he wants to get it in for 40bb, but he might be retarded and think a ahnd like 44 is good.
i think w/o any reads on the player, like this is your first hand at the table
over shove allin i think is the move.
hes going to have AK AQ like 3x more often than JJ TT
no one plays QQ+ like this except tards. |

hm well
im pretty certain jamming is +ev.. that's not really the issue.
qq+ is unlikely for him to have (but I think TT-JJ / AK/AQ are very likely - these are the hands I most frequently see people raise "more than normal" with because they're strong hands but also very vulnerable, bad players often just feel safer winning preflop with them)
iunno I like calling and leading virtually every flop, I think a random is extremely unlikely to bluff you out with worse if you do this, saves your stack vs TT-JJ and gives AK/AQ two less cards to draw from. (I don't think aq or ak played like this pre is going to push over on a T83 flop very often at all, just something about the style of player that raises 4x+ preflop generally being pretty straight forward about playing hands that he hits and folding when he doesn't. ) |

Oh shit this is button vs sb, I thought it was sb v bb.
The problem here is there are antes. Ppl raise this big with total shit to make u fold decent hands and hard for u to three bet. And if u just call he can take flop ip and he'll Cbet . I still think it's a 3bet or shove. He's got too much crap.
U Folded 9s so he can do this with randos, and ppl do play randos like this. 40bb isn't really anything close to a reshoving stack. But just do it. He'll quiet his raise size down after he folds and if his range is pure aj+,tt-jj u aren't even that bad, n ppl have randoms and worse pairs here. Like I'll even see 30vip 3% preflo raise fuckers throw in a huge raise button/sb steal once in a while.

oh. i thought this was b v b. lamer. i dont like flat oop, i just ship it in that case, make it easier to play and at least slightly +ev. |
