Amsterdam Poker

Hi!
I`m visiting Amsterdam soon and will stay there for 2weeks or for 2years (if i find a job). What are the possibilities to become a casino dealer there and how about the gambling situation generally in Netherlands? Any information is welcome.
Ohh and any must-see sights there?

well official poker is only played in the state regulated Holland Casino, since they have the monopoly for offering poker games and gambling activities. The chances of becoming a dealer there is around 0% if you dont speak Dutch.

Unofficially I dont know, since I am not from Amterdam and I go there like once a year.

What Edjon said... the government is in a big arguement with the EU about it because it's an illegal monopoly and it won't last more than a couple years from now according to the experts but I am afraid that would be too late to help you get a job as a dealer or anything. Not really sure either about what other job you'd best go for... do you have any experience in speaking Dutch, ever been here before, maybe a little familiar with things ??

Have fun in Amsterdam, it's a great city and GL on finding a nice job to do while you're there.

what are your qualifications? what kind of wage are you looking for? if you just speak english and estonian?. there are usually advertisements on randstad, vedior, monsterboard etc for native speakers of different languages maybe for yours?

becoming a dealer is very hard i think. though due to the pokerboom they are looking for more qualified dealers.

i used to work in logistics, but in Amsterdam a random job in a random place is fine at first ill try the job websites.....

you need to do a 3month course before you can work at holland casino. they are also quite picky about hiring someone.

It will be impossible for you to become a dealer in holland casino, the selection procedure is really strict only 5% of the persons out of a pull of HBO/WO students are up to standard. I can imagine the fact that you don't speak dutch would make them instantly refuse you.
