Sorry for the cake poker format! In both these spots I know pretty much nothing of the villians (cake doesn't allow HUD). I just started playing NL50 today and was running really well until these two hands took me back to where I had started for the session.

I am Arcology and in both these hands I had Q/Q.

In this one since he was unknown I think I could've found a fold against his large turn raise but I just felt I didn't want to lay down my overpair. Also, I think I could've tried shoving the river for the slim chance that he would fold, I doubt he would've but I was set on calling anyway.

This may just be a cooler because I didn't put him on J/J at all. But like the hand above his turn aggression was pretty serious.

Against an unknown (or maybe we can say I've played 50 hands at the same table and I see they are at least not maniacs) can I fold either one of these overpair situations?

1: bet 10 on turn, fold to raise..he's probably never bluffing on the turn of all spots. However if he was smart and had raised flop then you would almost certainly have to get it in assuming he raises with NFD or pair+FD hands and air occasionally

2: I would have probably just been like meh wtf is this and shoved turn, but as played river is a fold. He's never bluffing on the river.

dont tap the glass...im about ready to take a fucking hammer to the aquarium
