Hi guys

Im considering cashing out on stars and starting over on FTP. Could you guys tell me some advantages and disadvantages of FTP? How are the microstakes, cashgames in general and tourneys compared to stars?
Thx

The microstakes used to rape you on rake way worse then stars, not sure if this has been adjusted or not I cannot remember. If you go to FTP the biggest positive is the rakeback, but if your paying way more in rake it's a wash and your better off on stars. Tourney structures are better if I recall, they allow for more play.

I think at micro FTP with rakeback even though they have higher rake it will be a better deal.
I personally like Stars more because of game filters.

The only hands a nit balances in his range are the nuts, the second nuts, and the third nuts.

It might be alot better now that stars is redoing there VPP's, not sure how it will come out though.

The new VPP system when it comes out will suck for micro players. You used to get 6VPP's for the table when the rake reached 0.40 cents, now it will be 0.40 x 5 / # of players sitting, so I would think VPP generation will slow down considerably for micro stakes players. If this change even gets implemented.

if they give partial vpp's, it should be way better for micro 6m players

in 42k 6m nl10 hands, I got 1500 vpp's

under the new system, that's the equivalent of $1800 being raked from the table (300 per person)

in those 42k hands, I paid $440 in rake

that's a 50% increase, which is good news for micro stakes players

biggest advantage is how much easier ftp is at micro levels

Hey if you want to trade 500 on Stars for 500 on FTP, I am trying to change back to Stars. Let me know, I will send first.

unless your a player thats going for or at supernova then FTP is > imo since the rakeback and the softer competetion

NL50 - NL600 players are best off at stars imo, and NL600+ players are better off playing on both imo, for better game selection

i'd go ftp for micros, then stars for higher cause there are more games running, and better rewards system, better software etc.
