tricky spot, because of your stacksize. I dont think calling here is +EV as you are oop. What is history on villain, has he been stealing alot of blinds? What does a min raise say to you about him? These are the sorta things you really should have picked up and be taking notes, esp as the money is very close. Unless he has just joined or u have just moved tables.
Personally, because you are OOP, I would like to 3bet here to around 7-8k. That way you can represnet a much bigger hand. I will find alot of players will simply fold pre flop here after your 3bet, because a min raise at this stage is usually a weak stab at picking up some blinds/antes, and they will not want to call your 3bet even when they are IP, because you have forced him to put more money in the pot with a marginal hand. If he does call, I am leading the flop here and shoving as your hand is more than likely miles ahead here.
As played, villain does not have a strong ace. He has a weak hand, was trying to steal blind and has shit breaks cuz there is an ace on the board and is betting flop hard to make you fold. He prob has a possible FD or something like KQ, KJ, or a weaker ace. Because over betting on that flop is not what you do when you hit your ace in a tournament, you will prob bet around 1/2 to 3/4 alot of the time, because every chip counts, and by him over betting it just makes no sense. So I am shoving here. If he shows up with AK, AQ, I will be extremely surprised. |
