$3 rebuy, we in the money. History on villain;

Seen 67 hands - 32/23/8.0
Preflop 3bet - 6.98% (3/43)
Cbet - 80% (4/5)

Hand before, I make small raise with 44, and he 3bets me, and i fold pre. Then this hand comes up.

Would like some thoughts on my play. Should I be folding this pre? 4betting with it? or is the call fine? Given the board texture, is this a good flop for my 77? If we put him on AK/AQ, I am ahead, but not that much? Is this bad to fold, or if we want to win and get to FT, this is an easy shove? And by me calling his 3bet, should i be cbetting this?

Thanks

i think if your planning on folding to a relatively safe flop you should fold pf. if your only planning on playing this when u hit a set, it's probably better to limp/call pf.

based on your hand history i thought u were planning to check/call or check raise.

if I either reraise pf or fold. Because I dont want to just call and fold if I dont hit a set.

Now as played this flop is almost great for you, i mean you have many outs, I would shove flop

I am not a great player , just stating my opinion

Yeah now I look at this, I don't know why I am not shoving here. I think my problem was, I let the last couple hands cloud my judgement, and some of the history with villian. I also got him all in PF with 88 and he turned over 99, earlier in tournament when he was short. His aggression did seem to pick up pace in last orbit. I think I need to forget the last hand and make a decision in the moment.

If he is holding AKc, its almost exactly 50/50. Any other AK/AQ/AJ combo, im like 70/30 here. Problem is, if he actually does have the goods here and has AA/KK/QQ/JJ like hand, im in trouble around 30/70.

So I guess, at this stage of a tournament where we are ITM, is 3 betting PPs the best way to go? Or is flatting better?

I would fold preflop to a reraise, because you're not deep enough to setmine and playing 77 oop in a reraised pot is not very pleasant to say the least. As played this is like one of the best possible flops for you, so check-folding is indeed wrong.

Why are you calling preflop? This is basically the error of the hand, because either you should be calling preflop because his range is huge and you are gonna CRAI on tons of boards, or you have no read/think hes raising a tight range in which case you fold. Calling pre to checkfold this flop is a huge mistake

I would never call pre here and if i thought he was raising light and can fold i would just shove preflop, but most of the time here against random 3r players the best line will be to fold when you get 3bet

you raised utg+1, so why would you have reason to think he's bluffing you?

The only hands a nit balances in his range are the nuts, the second nuts, and the third nuts.

Appreciate the comments. Really do. Thanks

Think reason I called this was, as said before, the hand before he 3bet me, and I was like "wtf fu i call that shit". Mistake ^^ I let hand history effect judgment. I agree now, I should either shove pre or fold to 3bet, its not +EV to call here, because I am oop.
