I just know this guy is a reg because I've seen him around a lot, though I don't have any history with him.

I was confused on the turn.. I guess i have to fold here. Only reason I kept with it was because of the flush draw, so I knew I had atleast 30% equity. I guess I'm still way behind though..

I dunno, thoughts on this hand?

Eh, two overs, a gutshot, and flush draw. You were still almost 40% on the turn.

I probably play it the same.

Call turn imo, I can't see you possibly having any FE here.

Amazingly bad idea... 40% equity on the turn is almost enough for shoving, don't need much fold equity to make it a profiting play and if you flat and brick the river you'll go: ''ROFLCOPTER, FML, I NEVER HIT !!!'' and feel stupid for putting it, what, 2/3-3/4 of your stack with this hand and seeing a river without having it in the middle already.

The only thing I don't exceptionally like is the 3-bet, you have position with not that great of a hand. Sure AQ is good but I don't always love getting called preflop and folding out a shitload (usually) that you beat by 3-betting preflop. It's not a huge mistake but I'd probably just flat and underrep my hand a bit, you are in position anyways. After you 3-bet I think flop plays kind of itself, seems ok spot to c-bet even for a 3-bet pot and turn is like, gogogo gamblaments with 40% equity !!!

gutshot royal flush + 2 overs = shove

i also agree with not 3 betting this guy pf

The only hands a nit balances in his range are the nuts, the second nuts, and the third nuts.

lol what? you have 0 fold equity and you're certainly stacking him if you hit the river why not call and save yourself $6 if you miss

Ok confused this hand with another earlier edited:

First of all AQs is a monster, but there is nothing wrong with flatting and
playing in position.

Cbet is fine as played.

Again as played on turn you have 0 fold equity so I like a call better than a shove. As has already been said you save $6 every time you miss, and villain will get his last $6 in on any river including the ones you hit.

hum, thanks guys. guess flatting is most+EV but shove wasn't horrible?

Shad   United Kingdom. Jan 06 2009 00:08. Posts 866

Shove is still marginally +EV.

Put is this way, we run the hand 100 times. 61 times we call and miss, that's a loss of 61 x $7.56 = $461.16

OR

61 times we shove and miss that's a loss of 61 x $13.54 = $825.94

39 times we call and hit and he gets his last $6 in (which we assume he will on any river), thats 39 x $25.66 (the pot plus his remaining $5.98) = $1000.74
