Hi there folks!

My name is Sebastian and Ihave been visiting this site for like 1,5 years now. (happy birthsday btw)

Long story short Im sort of fallen in love with sng and mtt.Recently I won a 1 dollar buyin mtt only for hungarians on pokerstars (115 profit yeah ) and i decided Im gonna be a winning poker player.
Ive been playing 5dollar sngs and im doing ok.My question is how can u improve your sng skills?
First of all let me tell your that i tried to analize my play, watched a tons of videos, read a lot of artice here in lp and stuff. But still my play is kinda ehh..How should i say this:I always manage to survive till the bubble, but from there i feel its all about luck.Pls just tell me its not!
When the time comes and I fall below 13bbs i start playing kinda loose and play marginal hands, wich is good i guess but sometimes (very often actually) some fish bust me with river Ace and such.

Is there a way to avoid this?Or we can say "thats poker baby" Ive been thinking about using HUD.Is that much of a help?
I noticed when i was reading Dauts articles that he often rely on his tells. This is what i want to learn so desperate :D
How do u get tells from other ppls in a SnG.I feel the time is too short to analize their play.
I would appreicte any type of help!
Thx in advance Sebastian
PS:Sry for my englsih Im still studying it

you need to be more specific, post some hands where you felt you made mistakes and we can help you out with those. you claim to have read articles and watched videos, so theres no point in us reiterating basics you've already had explained

For SNGs, expect big, big swings. Around the bubble, yes, there is a ton of luck involved. But if you put tons of games in as a winning player, you should know you'll be cashing more times than busting out.

Make sure you have a proper bankroll for SNGs.

If you don't like the variance that comes with short effective stacks near the money bubbles of tournaments, play cash games. You've got to play a lot of SNGs to figure out what your "real" winrate is.

The thing is I started my poker career as a cash game player.Ive been playing cash games for 6 six month now,on 4-6 tables at once. And for a time it was good, but nothing special.I mean grinding at the lowstakes is robotwork,U do nothing but wait wait wait till u get a considerably good hand.It was profitable for sure, but i was bored to death.

The SnG/MTT is something completely different at least for me.Im not falling asleep during the period :D A lot of action and as the time goes and u get closer to the ITM is an awesome feeling. So basically thats why i choosed this type.
