There's a very narrow range of hands that play this way and have you beat (as 9x usually will raise the turn at the latest).
BUT I find it very unlikely that he is bluffing based on 3 reasons:
- He would have to turn a made hand into a bluff. Definitely possible, but I wouldn't say it's very likely with your average John Doe.
- If he is capable of turning his hand into a bluff and inteprets your bet sizing as weakness it's tough for him to represent much and can't expect an average player to be folding an overpair enough of the time to his raise.
- Maybe most importantly - his raise is huge.
Pitch it! |

you forget the one where he mistakenly valueshoves 1010 because he "senses weakness" on the river (John Doe logic FTW!) |

I don't know, man.
When people talk about hands like these they add holdings like that to villains range, but when I apply the same logic during the hand and call I'm getting shown 66,44 time and time and again. |

Completely agree with tomson. I'd bet closer to pot on the river though cause if u bet 100 like u did and get shoved on, you tend to think its cause he "senses weakness" when in reality he has u beat 90% of the time. I think its better to avoid these kind of situations when ur not sure what ur gonna do if he shoves over you. |
