Villain seemed to be a pretty good reg. He was playing either 6 or 8 tables at the time, idr. Usually I'd 3bet here, but against a nitty reg utg raising, my AK doesn't have a whole lot of value oop imo. Is this a standard play. Should I really be c/f ing this rvr? Seems kind of standard imo but let me know what you think.

His call on the turn is marginal if you ask me, he's not protecting his hand from the obvious flushes and let you draw for "free". Also you get 3 to 1 on your money for the showdown and i don't think you're out of line here.

Odds are exactly 50%, either happens or it doesnt Last edit: 24/07/2008 18:05

what was your thought process
on flop and turn and then checking the river ?

I cant really see what ure plan was there ?

like when u 3 bet him flop and he calls u, i assume u
do see yourself ahead cause u bet turn big but wtf
then suddenly u check river ?

However if u see ure hand as way ahead , way behind ( which would make a river check here logical) with a nuts draw in the back then why dont u wanna keep pot small and draw cheap on turn `?

imo the way u played it doesnt make sense to me

And he played it even worse ...
his flop and turn flat calls are terrible !
He must reraise flop and get it in on flop or at last on turn

U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz)Last edit: 24/07/2008 18:10

uhh yea i guess it's standard if you shove the river. what are you thinking check calling the river???

fuck I should just sell some of my Pokemon cards, if no one stakes that is what I will have to do - lostaccount

lol, villain played this hand really bad, and you took such a weird line.

and loco, wouldn't shoving the river be horrible? a reg wouldn't call with worse here
esp after calling a check/raise and a huge turn bet

on flop and when i bet the turn i figured i must be ahead, because with the few utg raising hands that beat me (AQ, QQ) why wouldn't he raise flop? On the rvr I was confused as shit and I thought he might possibly bet with worse hands than he called with given the large size of the pot. But, I don't really see the correct river play. You're saying c/c is retarded but also that shoving is bad. Should I be throwing out a $10 blocking bet and then obviously calling another $15 into a tremendous pot I've already committed myself to when he puts the rest of it in? I guess the mistake would be controlling the pot a little better on the turn to assure we aren't playing for stacks, but I thought I had a pretty strong hand vs. a player that leads out, which is usually not a set even on a ridiculous board like that. Wouldn't you agree that TPTK w/ nutflush draw should be played strongly? Idk the line is weird but it's just because of the risky retarded way that my villain played his hand.
