I find myself making important decisions late in tournaments quickly & without much of a concious thought process. This is a huge leak in my game. Anyone use any tricks for slowing themselves down?

I always wait for my name to light up two times to prevent myself from giving off timing tells and to make sure what im doing is what i really want to do.

you could probably just change all non auto-pilot ideas like folding 27os preflop after a utg raise to a set amount of flashes before acting.

WHAT IS THIS

sometimes if i got caught and raised when im cbetting with total air, i'm usually alttabbing to the browser and hit up some forums. when the site loaded i tab back and fold

I usually play NL1000, but accidentally misclicked.

I think the best thing to do is a thought process I outlined in my blog. Just because you have a feeling you should call/fold doesn't mean much.

When you're making an important decision, ask yourself these questions:

1) What are my pot odds?
2) What are my opponent's ranges?
3) Roughly, what is my equity against those ranges? (am I getting right odds to call?)
4) Do I really want to do this? Is it worth it, am I tilting, am I just making a play because I feel like it, or is this a GOOD spot?

edit: upon re-reading, this sounds really basic, but I truly believe a lot of poker is just playing solid, analytical, and carefully analyse every hand.
