I was very confused here, new to the table so no stats/reads. I keep looking back at this hand and thinking I should have shoved, what scared me was that the bet sizing on his reraise seemed rather large and screamed a set.

I guess what i'm trying to ask is are people playing any overpair like this? Is he doing this with a combo draw? I believe there are so many different hands he COULD have here, but with any stats/reads I have no idea how he plays

hmm, I think you are right in your reads of a combo draw, set, or other overpairs. doubtful that he's playing qq, kk, or aa like this, so I'd probably get it in. I think you're ahead most of the time here.

KwarK_uK: and if that was a bluff you deserved the pot for ballerness

Folding an overpaid on this board vs an 80 bb stack is not standard. Devon your reasoning is very flawed. If a play is plus ev make it like it has been said 100 times you dont wait for spots in cashgames you reload. Get too scared of variance and your just going to become a weaktight nit fish

I think we are ahead of his range, especially given all the overpairs lower than jacks that will put in a reraise (the bet size looks more like a midpair trying to push you off a hand to me) that I think a push allin would be my play.

if i decide to stick with the hand, which i probably will...

how's calling flop and then donklead/calling a non AKQ5H turn? lol how many cards is that -_-;;

i would say all-in is slighty more + EV here than a fold.

hed do that with 55 66 77 88 99 TT + all kinda draws a lot on this board.
so overall i tend more to a shove here.
Board is just soo drawy that ure ahead often enough imo

U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz)Last edit: 06/07/2008 15:47
