$540 deepstack event at Venetian.

I've chipped up pretty heavy to about 2x the bi, I forget what the actual stacks/blind levels were when this happened so I'll lay it out hypothetical style.

I'm about 300 big blinds eff. deep with the villain, and my image is that i have been running over the table. I won three large pots in a row and showed the nuts on one of them.

The villain in question was playing like 80 vpip for the whole tournament and running decent. The only hand in which he raised and showed down was Q9o from EP (which he c/c'd a flop having nothing but runner runner outs and got there by the river when turn gave him open ended)

I am dealt QQ, and the entire table limps. This has been VERY rare for this table, as only two guys were really ever limping in general. The villain completes in the small blind. I make a raise of about 9bb's and the villain thinks for about ~20 seconds, counts his chips, and shoves all in for 290+ bb's more.

I assume this is always a fold? Is this a fold 100bb deep?

edit: fwiw it's only the second or third blind level, and our stack is obviously fairly healthy.

It's also worth noting that if I do stack off and lose, I'm left with 100bb

wow this is such a gay spot. i think i would have a hard time folding tho given the table conditions and the fact he didnt have to shove over anyone other than u given the rest of the table folded from what it sounds like.

such a gaaaaaaaay spot. im really interested in others opinions

i icall for this reason. I think your'e racing more than you're dominated, esp. with the description you get. Also the off chance he shows up with the other QQ/JJ/TT.

I think this is easy fold, but i am a tourney donk... If 100bb deep I dunno, its close then imo.

For one, I actually saw people do this with aces quite a few times already and quite rarely/never with hands other than JJ+ and AK.
And for two, why go into such an allin situation when you really dont know what u are against and have a pretty good stack and a lot of time to outplay ur presumably weaker oponents...

Not sure if I would fold KK in that situation but I think its the better play actually.

And btw Sean, did u make it to day 2? If yes, gratz, if no, are u going to play the tommorows $2,500 one? I am considering it.

there is a light at the end of the tunnel... (but sometimes the tunnel is long and deep as hell)Last edit: 01/07/2008 23:56

this is a easyyyyyyyyyyy fold, i am way better than these donks and would not want to risk a huge portion of my stack or all of it with 5 cards to come. I rather play postflop and outplay them. Even if he has Ax he has 30%ev and i wouldnt risk my tournament life wiht 70% ev cuz i know i can outplay these donks.

Goodbye LP, thanks for everything

let me get this str8, the guy who shoves limp/shove right?
For 100BB i still fold here but i would have made it more pf, like 12bb.

you're probably by far the best player at the table, no need to gamble it up here imo

The whole table limps and then he wakes up and overbet shove on you AFTER limping ? I'd call just out of curiosity, if he has KK/AA/AK then i'd shake his hand and he would officially be the most retarded player ever witnessed in the poker world. I would not be surprised if he does that with AQ/AJ/TT and don't have a clue on how to play them postflop oop

Odds are exactly 50%, either happens or it doesnt Last edit: 02/07/2008 10:58

I've seen people limp shove AA / KK from early position, but doing it from the SB after the whole table limps would be beyond retarded.

This makes sense, the player is scared to raise into 9 people but isn't scared to raise into one, sounds like AQ/TT to me. Add AK or JJ if he is passive/tight, AJ if he is loose/passive

yea actually when echo told me the hand I missed that the villan was sb and completed so I definitely think I call. If hes retarded enough to limp aa/kk there hes probably retarded enough to shove for 300bb with crap hands.
