Why the fuck are you calling this pre-flop? Lemurian is one of the best players at these stakes at Everest. Calling his UTG raise with KJo is such a retarded play.
As played, idk really. Folding looks very weak, but it seems like he has you beat. You shouldn't have been in this spot in the first place. |

Yep, you hit your card and are still in a bad spot and beat by a ton of hands by an UTG raiser. Fold and remind yourself to fold preflop in the future |

Preflop is terrible really, I mean you get one of the best boards possible for your hand and you're still not sure what to do, what were you hoping for? KJJ flop or something? His range is far too tight under the gun, you dominate perhaps 2 hands he raises UTG which are QJs and JTs and many many hands has you dominated. Classic reverse implied odds situation. Another significant problem with calling here is that there's a decent possibility of a squeeze behind considering there are still 4 players to act, all with larger stacks and are thus probably regulars who are capable of doing things like that. It's really just a massive spew preflop. It may not seem like much cause it's only $7 and you have position and a reasonable hand but when you think of his range preflop and what you can possibly do postflop you'll see that it's gonna get you screwed up the shitter in the long run. Even against my UTG range I think this is a losing play preflop and I raise like 21% of hands UTG ffs.
Postflop what can I say, his double barrelling range is all hands that have you beat and possibly (not always) hands like AK AQ ATs that picked up a gutshot and still have an over or overs and figure to fold you off a ton of hands like 66-TT (a significant portion of your range). This hand is towards the top end of your range here (though it shouldn't even be in your range at all like I already said) so I think folding is weak also, I'd probably call again and fold to a river bet thinking that a player with such tight and passive type stats are incapable of firing the 3rd when your hand is clearly defined as a jack unless they are losing or spewy around or something then I might call. You got yourself into a tough spot where you stand to lose a large pot just because of a $7 call preflop. |
