Check/raise all in on turn is fine.
Check/calling with a monster draw like that is pretty weak. |

srsly shove turn. Draws benefit immensely from getting most of the money in before the card comes. Your 2 might even be live, should be ahead by a bit with the combo draw. |

Hi rockman, I am a noob poker player so I was wondering if you could let me know if I'm on the right track when I'm thinking about the raise you made right after the turn in your last post.
So after the turn, you would win if you get either another diamond (.25 chance) or finish your straight (1/6 chance), so your chance of winning the pot of $30 is (.25+1/6) = .40 ish. So if you raise, you statistically gain $12 ish (30 * .40 = 12), and it costs you $10 to raise.
So from that, I think that you were right to raise, but luck was also a part of it, since you got the cards that you wanted, and that the two other peeps called as well, so the pot ended up being even bigger.
Tell me if my thinking is right. I'm new to poker, so I'm just trying to get the hang of things so I can move up the stakes |

I like how you played the 2nd hand much more than the 1st. The first is so transparent everyone knows you're on a draw. |

the correct way to consider a draw, because some straight cards also make the flush.. if i assume my opponent has trips or worse then any straight or flush card makes it, right? theres 8 straight cards, 2 of which are diamonds, leaving 7 diamonds in the deck.
finally, i know my 2 hole cards, i know the flop and turn = 4, so there are 46 cards remaining in the deck
this i have a 15/46 = something like 31.5% chance of drawing out on the river on the final card
which is why i commented originally that my play was poor
(i dont know if you were joking or not, but saying the flush chance is 0.25 is obviously incorrect because we must only consider cards remaining in the deck, not the entire deck, and adding probabilities in general is not correct)
