Live game with 5/10 kill. kill is whoever wins pot has to put 20 dollars out and is last to act unless there is a raise in front of them. I barely played any hands in 3 orbits and raise the hand before with queens and take down the pot so now i put 20 out UTG and am last to act.

1k effective stacks.
folds to SB who is a winning regular and played with me a couple times, raises to 60. bb folds I call with Kh10h. flop is 988 rainbow he bets 80 I call. turn is Qx so now i got a gutshot he checks i bet 160 he calls. river is Ax he checks i bet 250 HE CALLS WITH 77!!!

How the hell can he even make that call? I never felt so owned before playing live. what the hell is he even beating that he can make that call?? So Tilted >.< someone please tell me what i did wrong. I wear a hat and look straight down and my chips/bet when im in a big pot. but i still get hella nervous when i make big bluffs live. Could he have soul owned me because I was nervous and he could sense me from across the table?

I mean if he's actually thinking? He thinks your value range is too narrow on the turn. Guy prolly thinks he's playing vs a pot controlling nit who checks back 9X and QX hands on the turn, and if that's true he prolly thinks that you also check back AX when you get there on rivers. Translation: he thinks you suck.

If he's basing a read off of some tells, your most likely tells are going to be with your bet sizing, those are easily the most obvious to pick up on. Timing of your bets is probably the second most obvious thing, followed by shaking hands, verbal comments, etc...

What most likely happened in this hand: Guy has pretty stationy tendencies, probably not as good as u think he is. He looks across the table at some unknown young kid that looks like he's played on the interwebs and sterotypes you as aggro/bluffy. He then proceeds to seatbelt a pair because it's hard to pair in hold'em w no real thought or logic behind it.

Adjust by being really optimistic with your value range

Honestly Fing 77 tho? Makes me never want to bluff against regs in live again, cuz that shiz doesnt happen online.
From now I am just going to value the crap out of regulars whenever I get a decent hand. Betting super fast and overpotting with my shaky hands.

Your first paragraph makes no sense, but the rest of it is really good stuff.

Been thinking about this hand all day and finally found out how he did it.
He calls the turn because he figures his hand is good sometimes and if not he has set outs. When river comes he figures i check back most aces on turn because it has showdown value. And when i bet river he doesnt believe i value bet a q so thin therefore i either got nuts or air and eventually makes the call. God dam somma a bitch owned my ass so hard. Fml

Browsing through your hand histories makes me wonder that you might not be aware these games are possibly play money. Have you ever tried to cash out? - Kapol

Yeah seems like both a reasonable bluff and a reasonable call, so you just got beat by tells and timing.
