I'm ok w/ folding here. It's not like checking trips is that uncommon in a live game, but folding trips is. If villain is truly good he should realize this and should never be bluffing here. Overbet for value w/ AJ or less? Just not that common. |

live game ? :-). Thats basically what i thought during the hand, if he tries to bluff me of a hand like Qx a smaller bet should basically do the same. This hand just doesnt make any sense ^^ |

actually it doesnt
since you've been c/f'ing all the time, in his eyes you're prone to get fed up and go for a 2 street check/call with a Qx type of hand, and its reasonable for him o think you snapcall a normal size bet, but obv you're gonna at least think twice when its an overbet instead |

I dont like taking this line if your gonna want to fold here, you are trying to rep Qx with the turn cc, so the goal is to make him try and bluff you off or overvalue AJ both of which are reasonable. Its true from some people this is purely the nuts but you have no way to know that about this guy. |

you are right, but i was talking about him betting twice the pot instead of making like a 1.2x overbet, thats what got me thinking why would he overbet so big, if im steaming and calling a 500$ bet here on the river im gonna call the 800$ bet with pretty much the same frequenzy.. |

I guess thats a valid point, but if he worries about balancing at all he should always be shoving when overbetting, since when overbetting for value he is gonna go for max value |

Were either of the players in the blinds donks? If they were, you have to take into account that villain probably assumes your opening range is relatively weaker than normal. If this is the case, it becomes more reasonable for him to do stuff like value shove worse Ax.
I like your turn check, I play this the same way often.
Otherwise, I mostly agreed w/ evilsky. |
