Last I heard:
Black Friday happened.
FTP got in deep shit, but PStars was compliant with DOJ.
FTP had a couple of court dates, but PStars didnt?
FTP was bought out, PStars got licensing elsewhere.
I hate Carbon Poker/Merge (hope the poker gods didn't hear that), but it is literally the only thing left for US players.
Is there any update to this situation? Is there a court date in PStars future just as there was in FTPs? Or is there a website where official updates/specualtions are being posted?
Looking for hope.

what are you talking about? Stars finished their business with the US, set a deal with the DOJ to unfroze accounts and paid the U.S. players in full while leaving their market.
The reason FTP has got all those court dates is because those motherfuckers didn't have the players funds. Had they been an honest business and had 100% of their customers money they would have done the same thing Stars did, set an arrangement, pay the FTP players in full and continue doing business with the rest of the world.

Thanks. |

Stars is still the largest online poker provider by a mile, but they said it would be a long time before they reconsidered entering the US market again |

I don't think this is true. As far as I know, their case is still pending just like FTP and UB, but they're able to continue operating in the meantime. It might be some big fine at the end with an agreement that they can never enter the US market if new legislation passes, but it's mostly speculation what the penalty would be. It could be something else entirely. It may or may not affect Pokerstars being able to be safe, but they are still waiting for more talks with the DOJ.
People can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think people just assume Pokerstars is ok since we haven't heard much news about them and the DOJ lately. |

Well even if that is the case, I think PS is still going to be on their feet after that fine and final decision from the DOJ. I don't see any reason why they wouldn''t but still sux to have the feeling of never being safe but oh well, I live in north Mexico so I'm used to that lol |

Not sure how up on things you are lately... but the FTP brand name has gone to shit... Their software is worth boatloads tho... Rush poker... and even their standard GUI software... really well made. |

tons of people were playing on FTP because of the name not the software... man
when you buy an already existing company you want the name AND THE CUSTOMERS
that way you dont have to build anything
your retarded if you think the buyers care about how good the software is
they want the customers
who care if FTP name has gone to shit
they will write '' NEW MANAGEMENT'' and everything will be fine
people saying '' i wouldnt play on FTP even with new management becuase of what hapenned'' are dumbs

Yeah, I agree w/ heros on this one. People who think otherwise maybe don't understand the value of a well-known brand.
Think of the fact that people *know* of FTP. All those millions of dollars spent on advertising would be useless if they changed the name. Yes, there is some bad publicity w/ regard to their name amongst people who *closely follow all this shit*, but they would make way more money with all the people who would flock back to their poker tables as opposed to trying to build a new brand.
You think if Hero Poker had better software, that they'd make more money and have more customers than FTP if FTP came back? Not a chance. |

I guess i didnt really think about the "new management" angle... youre prolly right. plus. . . anything is better than merge XO lol
i just foresaw a massive withdrawal if it ever re-opened... but gradually they might get back to where they were |
