** High Stakes Hand of the Week **

In this hand, DustySwedeDude makes an awesome call with just Ace-high for a 2-buy-in pot. Holding AQ in a $5/$10 3-handed game, Dusty counters villain's raise with a 3bet and gets called. Both players see the flop of 839 and Dusty makes a cbet, villain flats. The turn pairs the board with another three, and this time Dusty check-calls. The river is another eight, which makes the board double-paired. Dusty checks again, then villain fires $655 into $755. Holding just Ace-High, Dusty makes a brave call and wins a huge pot, as villain shows 7T for the busted straight draw.

** Low/Mid Stakes Hand of the Week **

The winning hand of this section was played by gawdawaful. Our hero was playing a NL200 game when he was dealt KQ. He started by calling a raise, and Rikje89 called behind him. Then donkydynamit 3bet, original raiser folded and both our hero and Rijke89 called for the second time. The flop came 338, and donkydynamit fired a cbet. Gawdawaful called and Rikje89 folded. The turn brought an Ace and donkydynamit fired a second barrel. After making a call with air in a 3-way pot, Gawdawaful pushed all-in, representing a made hand. Villain made the call and both players saw the 5 river. On the showdown, gawdawaful's play proved to be a value shove, as villain turned up KJ for a weaker hand.

Runner-up: The next hand<A name="cutnews"></A> shows Artanis making yet another of his great plays and winning a big pot in a $1/$2 full-ring game. Holding Jacks, Artanis raises and calls villain's 3bet. The flop comes 454 with two clubs and Artanis check-calls villain's bet. The turn brings an Ace of spades and another check-call follows. The river is a three of spades. For the third time, Artanis just checks and lets villain act. Villain goes all-in, and Artanis makes a great call with just a pair, as he knows villain holds air!

** Tournament Performances **

Last week, I made a mistake and mentioned Artanis[Xp]' runner-up finish in the $100+9 among tournament performances of the previous bulletin. We would like to give him the due credit, as his result was actually valid for this week's bulletin. This makes him the winner of this week's award, as he had the best performance of the period from December 29 - January 4. Congratulations!
