** High Stakes Hand of the Week **

The winning hand of this week, played by our green star PoorUser, is one of those hands that inspire us to become better poker players, so we are happy to name it HOTW :D. He was dealt A9 in a $10/$20 heads-up match, and was seating with an effective stack of $4,158 when he called a raise from villain. The flop comes 483 rainbow, and PU check-calls. The turn pairs the board with another four, what follows is a check-check. The river is a nine, which gives our hero top pair. PU leads for $220, but villain raises to $640. PU 3bets to $1344 and finds himself faced with a 4bet. In a spot many would have folded, PoorUser shows why people think of him as a great player and makes an awesome call, which makes him win the hand.

PoorUser wins great hand with just top pair on a dangerous board

Runner-up: The next hand is a lesson by Jamie217 on how to not lose money in a poker game. Playing a short-handed $10/$20 NLHE game and holding pocket fours, Jamie calls a raise from villain, the other guys fold. The flop comes K4K, which gives our hero a full house, wow. Villain checks, Jamie bets and villan proceeds to call. The turn brings a two of diamonds and now a flush is possible. Villain just check-calls again. The river brought another diamond card, this time an ace. Villain checkes and it was expected that Jamie fired another bet, but he didn't. Aware of the chance of villain holding a better full house, he checked back. It proved to be the right move, as villain showed pocket kings for the four of a kind and won the hand.

Jamie217 shows when checking is the best play

** Low/Mid Stakes Hand of the Week **

Sometimes, when looking at poker hands, we see some mind-blowing calls. This hand, played by FrinkX, shows one of those! Playing a 6-handed NL400 game with over 200bb and holding pocket eights, FrinkX calls a raise from villain. The flop comes J6J with two diamonds. FrinkX check-raises his opponent's bet and he calls. A queen of clubs falls on the turn, FrinkX fires a bet and villain makes the call. The river is a king, which is another unfavorable card for our hero. He checks and villain shoves all-in, for way over the pot. Put to a tough decision and holding just a pair of eights, FrinkX makes an insane call and takes down a gigantic 400b+ pot, as villain shows just Ace-high.

FrinkX is a hero, click to know why

Runner-up: The next hand shows our Swede longple making a brave call with just A-high in a NL100 heads-up game. Holding AQ, he raises from the button position and gets called. Both players see the flop of 44T, with two hearts and villain just check-calls. The turn drops a two, and now villain check-raises and longple calls. The river is a five. Villain pushes all-in for $85 and puts longple in a tricky spot, who believed his Ace-high holding was the better hand and made a brave call. Villain shows 7Qs for a failed bluff attempt and our hero takes the 212bb pot.

longple makes an awesome river call to win a big pot

** Tournament Performance of the Week **

The best performance of this week could be none other than RaiNKhaN's! Hevad final tabled the Sunday Million and finished in 8th place for a $18,387 payout. We know how strong some of our users are when they reach the final table, so it's a pity Rainkhan didn't get a better finish. However, he's showed a great effort by final tabling the most important regular tournament in the poker scene, and for that we congratulate him! !

I am actually interested in a similar point about that hand. I notice that PU did not snap call. What struck me as the genius of the hand was the fact that PU 3bet, but I don't understand why you would 3bet unless it was to lolsnap the induced shove. Anyone got ideas? PU is obv on some insane other level, cos that river play blows my mind.

cause you think he has a worse 9

9 is never 4betting so your whole judgment changes from 9 to air/nuts. and I think people 4 bet rivers a shitload more with nuts than air -_-
