The first part of the World Series of Poker is over, and we have finally got to the point everybody was waiting for: the final table of the Main Event. After 15 hours of play, the number of 27 players that started the day was reduced to the final nine that are going to play for 9 million dollars during days 9th and 10th of november.
Bracelet owner Phi Nguyen was one of the most recognizable faces among the remaining players, but was also the 2nd eliminated of the day. He moved all-in with ATo only to find himself behind against a pair of Jacks from Paul Snead. The board didn't help him and he was out, cashing $257,334. Brandon Cantu, winner of this year's WPT Shooting Star was eliminted in 20th. He lost with nines against a single holecard ace high flush. Tough beat for him. Tiffany Michelle had a really bad day. Everything was going wrong for her, and she found herself mucking her hands in the 4th or 5th street many times during the day. Michelle was eliminated after moving all-in when he flopped a pair of Aces, what she didn't know is that Peter Eastgate had flopped the nuts, set of Aces. That hand was her last one in the tournament, and she was eliminated in 17th $334,534 richer.
As expected, once we were down to a single table with ten players, the game slowed down a lot. Only one elimination was separating all the guys in the tournament from fame and fortune. More than two hours were gone without any remarkable situation, except for a suckout by Craig Marquis. He managed to hit a runner-runner flush in the river with AQo, beating Dean Hamrick's pair of Queens. Craig Marquis was also the responsible for setting the final table. His pair of Queens held against Dean Hamrick's in the following board: . Dean Hamrick became the bubble boy, and the Main Event's finalists became known.
Meet the November Nine and their stacks:
Seat 1: Dennis Phillips - 26,295,000
Seat 2: Craig Marquis - 10,210,000
Seat 3: Ylon Schwartz - 12,525,000
Seat 4: Scott Montgomery - 19,690,000
Seat 5: Darus Suharto - 12,520,000
Seat 6: David 'Chino' Rheem - 10,230,000
Seat 7: Ivan Demidov - 24,400,000
Seat 8: Kelly Kim - 2,620,000
Seat 9: Peter Eastgate - 18,375,000
The players are now on a 117-day break, as the final table will only be played on November 9th. On the upcoming months we will surely get to know a little bit more about the finalists. Liquid Poker staff would like to thank you all for reading us during these 6 weeks, and also all of our members for representing us so well during the World Series of Poker!
Hollywood is crazy. First they have The Mexican with Brad Pitt and now they got The Last Samurai with Tom Cruise. Maybe they produce my film: The Last Nigger On Earth, starring Tom Hanks. (Paul Mooney)

"Poker pro Phil Hellmuth busted out in 45th place when his Ah-Qh failed to make any headway against the pocket Jacks of Andrew Rosskamm, despite a series of draws after the turn. He makes $154,400 for his finish and extends his record of WSOP cashes to 68."
