The Big One for One Drop is scheduled to take place on July 1st at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
With 30 players confirmed, the first prize is estimated at $12,266,668, the largest prize in poker history. Besides the huge prize, the winner will walk away with WSOP's first ever Platinum bracelet. Just recently the WSOP organization announced several step-satellites to be held in May and June. These satellites will qualify players to a $25,300 buy-in tournament, which will guarantee a seat into the $1,000,000 event. Extra seats will be created for every 40 entries in the mega satellite. If you live in the U.S., visit WSOP.com for information on location and dates for these events.
The Big One for One Drop has a strong beneficent aspect. A total $111,111 from each buy-in will be donated to ONE DROP, a charitable organization created by Guy Laliberté. ONE DROP develops access-to-water and sanitation projects in underdeveloped countries. So far, $3.3 million have been raised for the organization.
