Just curious about this. Lot of people seem to dislike him. There was a thread not long ago titled something like 'who would you like to see go broke?' and a few high stakes LP players said Grimstarr. I'm genuinely curious as to why this is..

he once agreed to a 5k flip then folded
i think he also plays his button in HU then sits out straight after
hes almost always sitting out
he has acne
his downswing is epic

some of the reasons

yeah he has a long history of doing gay/douchebag/unethical shit ever since that infamous incident where he agreed to allin pre flip next hand at party 5knl and folded to the other guy's allin because he got dealt like 36o or something. aside from the mentioned button/sitout in hu, i believe hes disrespected/interrupted headsup sessions several times when both players were telling him they were playing hu and he should leave (he does stuff like ignore them both and start playing some shortstack hu that also joined the table)

He has hilarious swings though and there's always some huge change in money or controversy surrounding him, like when his 'friend' he was staying with at a hotel with stole 100k in cash from his bag or whatever.

Also for all those who hate Grimmstarr, CTS sat at all of the HU 25/50 tables at FTP a month ago so that he could force Grimmstar to play him. If I recall correctly he took a lot of buyins of of Grim. For some reason the idea of CTS sitting at all the tables and Grim still being so degen that he played him is hilarious.

Mm, I dont see how winning the big blind and sitting out is bad manner. I mean, he gets the sb 50/50 and hes already up by hitting it, and then there is a percentage of time that his opponent is going to play back, so...
And I almost always sit out after sb, hu, whats wrong with that?

The flipament is really awful by him though.

One very suspicious player

DooMeR   United States. Aug 11 2007 12:09. Posts 8551

im fairly sure the first person to sit down gets the SB first right?

because when he doesnt get it first, he can just play the button second hand and sit out, and be even

also he probably has a good idea of which people know about his antics and be aware their first hand range will be wider and adjust correctly in position and give them less credit

also also, on ftp tables its not 50/50. if hes already sitting alone at the table and someone joins him, he gets the button 100%.

sitting out after sb when youve been playing a decent hu session for some time is fine, doing it first hand all the time is clearly diff and extremely disrespectful as well as unethical, imo.

haha from observing high stakes hu matches I was always wondering if it could be profitable for like, someone with a $2000 br to abuse this and steal bbs from 25/50 matches
i mean it would be a significant part of your bankroll then, 1 buyin at 0.5 which could be what you were playing with $2000 in the first place

of course its gay as hell but im amused to find that a highstakes player actually does it

funny how times have changed, everyone sits at 1000 tables without playing these days

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same
