would you ever fold AA here?

Oskar_123   Sweden. Nov 24 2010 15:55. Posts 401

I'd rather fold than take the worst possible line, I'd die of shame to showdown a hand played this poorly, and I make some pretty fucking poor plays sometimes.

You check turn with JJ/44 ?

edit: but yeah I see what you mean. I'm in a "breakeven" stretch and sometimes I think I'd prefer to be down against somewhat decent play than breaking even when 90% of the hands I play consists of retardness.

I just assume everyone is retarded until proven otherwise...A lesson I learned in recent months after my assumption that people think on a similar level led to 'wtf' rage 20 times per day.

(You can imagine how wrong assuming people think like me is at NL50)

I really don't know why it tilts me so hard to see people say stuff like this, but it does.

If you are complaining that your opponent got his money in drawing to two outs on the turn and got there on the river, you need to re-evaluate why you're playing poker.

you're also stupid. Yeah.

meh, think this is a bit uncalled for. it's not like I constantly post bad beats or whine about how bad I run or anything like that.

If any of the people who think he played his hand well care to explain why I'd be happy to hear it, just seems absolutely terrible to me unless you're making very specific assumptions about how I'm going to play. Given villain has played thousands of hands against me one would think it seems strange he'd just completely missjudge my range, seems more to me like once he gets aces he doesnt even bother looking at the board anymore.

No one does. Feit is just on his period.

Also, some people doesn't want a challenge when catching their free munniez.

edit: hard to tell what PU and CirCa is up to tho...

you are never betting Jx on turn? or a worse pair you floated?
you are never floating this flop with air/betting turn?
you are never betting a missed draw you didn't want to raise on flop?

maybe its just me but i would expect villain to bet the Q turn a lot of the time... at least that has been my experience in these spots

he might get an extra bet out of you that he wouldn't if he barrelled himself by going for a c/r
he also has blockers to AQ and might not think you are calling KQ pre too often here? i don't know exactly how he views your game or how you play

basically i think you would have to be a HUGE nit in order for his play to be bad (or -EV)

think bet/calling Jx here is pretty thin, even if he expects me to bet/call AJ/KJ here some of the time he's still very close to just splitting my range when he shoves. So when I have a float/draw how is shoving a good play? I think I'd have to be a huge nit for protecting his hand to be more important than letting me bluff or valuecut myself on the river.

CirCa   Canada. Nov 24 2010 17:12. Posts 1249

he certainly could have c/c the turn and i understand/agree with your above points... a lot of players would rather just take the easy way out by c/r turn and not have to make a tough river decision though (not saying that is right just how it is)

my argument is just with you saying that his play was so "terrible"... which i disagree with because i believe it is still +EV... i don't think there is any "great" standard play on that turn and it is all opponent dependent... some players turn range will be close to exactly KQ,AQ,JJ for example... and others will bet their whole range that they would otherwise fold to a turn barrel

it's hard to find a -ev play with aces and less than 2 times pot left but I think both bet/call and check/call are far superior plays here both against most villains at this level and especially against me.

edit: may have been a bit of an exaggeration of how bad his play is in my first couple of posts I just got really pissed off there for a while
