Yes, sometimes we will lose a pot by giving a free card but it will be relatively small in regards to the amount of money left to bet in the hand. This is especially true at higher limits like 5/10 and up. In this situation the reslsults would have been the same. Now on the contrary....lets say he was on FD. Do you really want to be up aginst that range with a 1pair hand? Sometimes it is better to make a delayed comtinuation bet. Let the turn peel, if it makes the flush play accordingly and if it is a brick you have cut villians chances of making his draw in half. So know when you make 3/4 pot bet he has to really consider chasing here and will definitely not be getting the the right odds to chase.
