WTF is up with the US dollar?

I mean how low can it go? this is insane. I live in Canada so this is screwing us over big time. I meanm i just cashed out my $1500 bonus from stars just to get $1,394.28 CAN back. Also stores in Canada now cant compete with US stores because everything is so piss cheap there. What made this happen?

Yeah I'm really pissed off too, used to get a nice bonus when cashing out now can't even get what I have. Also there's the fact that Canadian retailers are not passing on the savings - books cost 20% more in Canada, online computere retailers 10% more or so. Ridiculous.

yeah, bloody oath, same here in Aus. Can't they bung on another war or something to show the superiority of the USD

Yeah, i know its stupid, plus they did it over such a short period of time, and its still getting lower, they don't give other countries time to adjust!

just through basic knowledge of how the american economy works, is that eventually the USD will raise in value again, when? i don't know. They circulate more money so the USD value goes down when the U.S. gets in debt, so things are cheaper for other countries to invest, then the USD value goes up when investments are of a substantial amount. Then we're all happy and get more money. Except for US citizens where we get the same shit.

sugo, their is a cycle that exist but for some reason the cycle has stopped, and it has been going down for the last like 5 years. I think the normal cycle is something like 2 years up and down between the Euro and the dollar. I could be wrong though, Im not exactly an economist.

no way it is bad for china, a fucked america is great for china in the long run and they know it. Why would they keep buying america dollars if tehy knew buying dollars wouldnt benefit them.
1st when china attacks taiwan, china has leveraging power on america not to intervene or it will crash the dollar.
2nd Since they peg their yuan towards american $, their exporting trade has no significant decrease and might even increase with a higher currency from other countries, increase purchasing power.

Countries who get screwed are the developed countries since we are the only ones with a free market. Free market does not work if there are cheaters in the world.
American trade policy is so bad that i think the dollar will further decline.
