This might be the most important post I've made on a blog. It has very little to do with me but a lot to do with anyone who lives in Europe or any other country that might turn to shit really soon. To get some background, please watch this speech in the European Parliament by quite possibly the most entertaining politician in recent times:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=TN_1mF-3JTI

The Euro is shit, it'll turn to shit and to claim that the Euro was a good idea is bullshit on such a level that I can't even describe it. Ten years ago I though the Euro was a cool thing that Sweden should use. My only defence is that I was 15 and an idiot.

If you live in a Euro country, the possible exception being Germany which seems fine for the time being, make sure to have some stockpiled food home, enough to last for a week or two, keep enough cash home that you and your family would be fine in cash the banks top working for a few weeks. Make sure to have enough saving to survive unemployment for 6 months or preferably more. If you're a poker player, make sure that at least some of your profits are reachable even if your bank account would stop working for extended amounts of time.

Obviously this crisis might blow over, but my guess is that it'll be a lot worse before it gets better and while we've seens rome riots in big European cities and bank runs in Greece, that shit is very likely to happen a lot more.

I live in Sweden and since the Swedish currency is not pegged to anything and Sweden is doing better then most of Europe (even though private debt is soaring due to retarded mortgages and that will, not might, will blow up in our face sooner or later) so I'm ok to have most of my money in this currency, but if you live in a Euro country, get hold of some Swiss money, gold and/or silver if you want to be on the safe side.

I urge you to read this: http://savecapitalism.wordpress.com/2...the-great-world-depression-2012-2020/

He's a bit extreme but he is mostly right in his predictions.

We will face another batch of news of "recovery" and crap before the election in the US and politicians in Europe will say that it's about to turn around. That will all be lies. Watch how country after country in the EU will need to be bailed out and eventually the Bundesbank won't be able to stop ECB from printing money and creating inflation. Inflation is a lot like a tax on money, and it's sneaky as hell. The FED will soon (within the year) start some kind of QE3 in disguise and print a shit ton of money and create even more inflation. Sooner or later China won't be able to drive the world economy. This fractional reserve banking system we have will most likely cause a fairly big collapse.

I'm aware that I sound like a paranoid gold bug (and I am, no argument there), but at least take the time to think about it next time you see a big European country in need of a bail out (I'm guessing Italy sometime this fall) or congress raising the debt ceiling.

I won't rant more about this since I do know that people who don't believe in it probably won't be convinced and people who do can read up on it much better elsewhere. Take care, feel free to ask stuff and remember that being prepared is the best insurance against things turning ugly.

People have been predicting hyper-inflation since 2 years ago when the FED started Quantitative easing...the inflation rate hasn't risen more than 2%

http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/inflation/historical-inflation-rates/
http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/inflation/current-inflation-rates/

Japan's lost decade which he talks about in the longer essay happened also due to the japanese having to tight of a money supply policy, not to loose.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Decade_(Japan)

Plus right now America is actually more concerned over a possible deflation spiral than we are hyper inflation.

Also claims "Britain has already entered stagflation, with rising prices, high unemployment and economic contraction"
Um stagflation has no specific amount but is typically over 7% for multiple years....UK hasn't gone over 6 in a long time and is around 3-4 right now...sooo ya http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2009/mar/09/inflation-economics

Also his 2012 predictions are really insane http://savecapitalism.wordpress.com/2011/12/31/2012-goodbye-and-hello-again/

How about a wager...I say the fractional banking system won't collapse and although the euro may collapse there will not be hyper inflation or stagflation in America or with the Euro (european countries if they drop maybe but not the euro if it's around).

Again idk what to wager, pride i suppose

As much as i trust and understand what palak is saying, and trust the system(s) itself, i don't trust the people who run the system(s), which is the main problem IMO, not the system that is being used.

Most meaningless willingness to bet I have ever seen in my life.

If he wins - he gets useless currency.
If he loses - he loses useful currency.

Don't have money online and can't get it online (fuck u again doj), hence can't wager that...soo ya not much I can actually bet with

edit: also like it since there's nothing to win, just lose...like the game in family guy (petarded episode)
Peter Griffin: [reads game card] For whistling at a white woman, go directly to jail. Aw, man! Doesn't anyone ever win at this game?
Cleveland Brown: You don't win. You just do a little better this time.

Didn't realize DustySwedeDude had the power to influence the outcome of the euro zone ;p

FBS might survive, the Euro will probably not. We already have really high inflation in the US, it's just that you decided to change how to measure it.

I'm betting hard on this, I'm invested in gold and silver stocks. I'd tell you to short gold if you believe in recovery but since those markets are corrupt as fuck that'd be mean.

I dunno, hope you're right I guess.

I'd probably take bets with people I know a little bit on some country trying some kind of gold or silver standard within 10 years or so.

I have around $0 which makes it hard to buy stcoks...I'll snap call ur gold standard bet though for any EU nation, America, and China.

U got gold stocks? I suggest studying a little more bcos all those stocks are worthless if shtf, the gold stocks - paper is not backed by the metal itself. So when things start collapsing, u won't get anything out of it.

Oh wait, if u own gold mining companies shares then it's ok I guess.
