i am sure all of you guys who have br's past nl100 have been through swings..
when you are running bad/playing bad/slightly tilted or whatever, at what point do you stop?
what do you do instead of play poker?
in general, what sort of rituals do you guys have when you take a series of bad beats, stand up from your pc and say damn.. im down a lot 
in part im just curious, but i would also love some advice. |

I usually just stop playing for the day, or for a few hours, do something else, either go out, play some console games, read or w/e I feel like doing that has nothing to do with poker... and I'm usually super motivated when I come back |

but how long a period of time are we talking, if you just lost 3-5 buyins and are a little steamed.
i think i would go out for a cigarette maybe work out. i havent really made a habit of taking breaks for more than 2 hours
what do you guys mean stop loss, thats defined as the number you must stop and take a break?
oh. and umm, at what point do you go down a level in stakes? 75-80% of your required buyins for the level you are stopping? |

-3 buyins and i'm done for the day, it keeps my suicide scares to a minimum
go down in stakes when you're not playing well or no longer have 30 buyins |

Definitely take a break right when you think you're tilting.
it takes a while before you build up enough discipline to just stop playing when you're not playing your best. |
